Figured I'd put it up in case anyone is interested. I think it could and should be fixed. Obviously it's not my car, and could be someone on here (???)

No way. 132K miles? That's about 15K worth of damage and a guarantee you the frame is diamond.

Mileage doesn't matter to me as much as it does to other people I guess. $15k worth of damage? You think?

Based on the condition of the engine compartment, ^^^^^ my guess would be NOT likely.
It was on ebay over 6 months ago and didnt sell then....

Nahhhhhh, seller says it fixable.
I have a news flash.... they are all fixable, that one will just take a lot of $$$ to do it. Plus, this isn't the first go round on Epay for that car either.

Maybe if it doesn't sell this time it'll come down? We'll see I guess.

Yeah I believe he wanted $5000 or something like that(which made mine look like a total steal @ $9850)...
With a MGM parts car it could be pieced back together fairly cheaply, no it wouldn't be correct but would be drivable...
Blk Mamba
11-09-2010, 11:49 AM
For that price it could be a nice track car.

I'm thinking the engine got pushed way back...check out the cross over tube...bent to he!! and the upper intake is almost under the cowl...

That's a bummer. Only way to know for sure is to see it in person.

That "thing" was once a Marauder, was then beaten to death by some mutt and wrecked. It would need a ton of TLC, dedication and $$$ to revive it. Rigor has set in for sure...

Well I bid $2k on it, it would have been worth that for the salvageable interior parts, drivetrain parts, and rear fascia lol. Also says he has all the wheels... but no dice. I didn't really expect to hit reserve at $2k, but that's all I could've spent right now lol. Back to saving, waiting, and hunting for my Blue one.
The Auto Check shows it was in a accident back in Dec '08, it's no doubt been setting almost two years...

NO way a fixer. If you did fix and used all new Ford parts I would say repair would be close to that 11500-14000. Yeah and running when he moved it a fuel line broke HUH yeah it probably broke cause its mashed against The cowl/firewall. This one is strictly a body part total cause that miles the lkq motor/trans being so high on miles 800.00 car at best sold whole. If this guy were smart he would part it out

Thats exactly what happened. Taking the impact over the frame ends caused the energy from the impact to push all kinds of stuff back
If someone wants a totaled marauder they can fix I can find one for them I have a Missouri rebuilders license. Like I said at best worth around 7-800 whole.

Thank you for the insight. I'm still gonna watch it, he may relist it with no reserve if he gets tired of sitting on it or needs the money bad.

If it was in my area I would give him 500 but not were it is from my place. Thats what this one would bring at the salvage pool.

Agree like I said 500 be very most if I was closer. 500 to get it home turns into 850.00 for me.

Right. I'd be dollying it to Indy, I'd guess the trip to cost about $100. We pick up parts cars with the wife's 2.7 Dodge Magnum and my old ex-Uhaul dolly. Tows great and gets great mileage.

No doubt considering he has a 3200.00 reserve. for youre own sake dont go to high. all you get from it frt doors back/ & interior. considering the motor/trans has that miles they kinda fall out of the eqaution. Just my opinion as I do salvage bidding for a friends salvage yard.periodically

Thanks for the advice. I wasn't planning on going nearly that high. $2k was actually a bit out of my comfort zone on this one, and only went that high because I love the cars.

Yeah if he had any sense it would take him a day or 2 to strip doors,interior/Tranny (as a core) same on motor take everything off of it & take to local scrap yard it might get him 40-50 bucks for the striped shell not sure what scrap is bringing right now.

if any of you guys buy a wreaked Marauder, i will buy the shell if it has a clean title .I dont want any parts just the shell. I have enough parts to put one back together
Up for bid is a 2003 project Mercury Marauder. Fully loaded. Every option except moon roof. I have all 4 chrome factory rims. I have too many projects. Must sell! The car has front end damage. Damage over frame rails. Car will need fenders, hood, lights, bumper and core support. Priced all parts needed. Will run you about $1400. Car was running when purchased. Just recently, by moving it, broke the fuel rail. It will also need to be replaced. Will try to answer any questions to the best of my ability. The car has a clear title. No salvage. The car would have to be trailered or towed due to the condition. Reserve the right to end the auction early because the car is also for sale locally.
Did he forget a Zero after $1400???

Heck...the air bags alone are gonna run you more than the 1400 bucks he said its gonna take to get the parts for it....and where did the guagepod and EATC go...the trans maybe fubar since the shifter is not in park....and some one left the lights on!!

Actually, my mother inlaw is cleaning out my late father inlaws "treasures". It is certainly more than worth her time and effort with what scrap metal is selling for around here. Its just s shame about what is actually a rare car. 11,052 among millions isn't even a drop in the bucket. It'll take some time. My DTR is going to be a family hierloom.

Is it up right now? its been over 6 months since I was at the scrap shack. That goes up & down so fast sometimes.
You are 100% & figure out of that# how many are either stripped down and crushed already or sitting in a s-yard being a parts whore. Its amazing how many are probably repairable but get bought by a s-yard and stripped for parts. Thats one of the main reasons I finnaly renewed my builders permit.

OK--lets look at this a moment--
A car with an apparent OEM Dealer Sheet in Calif. with a sell sheet in NJ, but said to be found in Detroit--is that right?--if so, that tells you it has traveled a lot and the evidence already spoke here tells even more--wrecked in '08 and sitting around since then---- plus it is truely damaged beyond and 14K--more like 16--way beyond its value--and the motor is trashed--+
Noticed the air bag pics show no activation--wrong-----they have been fixed to show that--there is probably no air bags inside that wheel or pass side--Duh!
This is a bad dream--all should move on!!

The passenger side appears to be tucked back inside the dash...

Yep cut 80% of bag out and can re-connect wheel bag cover and dash pad is same very simple. That is one of many receipts that you must provide when applying for a rebuilt title. In Missouri that is some states are so lax it is a hackers dream, hack it back together and sell for good$$

also on the airbags in Missouri you cannot use used bags they must be new oem bags.

He priced the parts at $1400?? My USED bumper was $900 alone. Headlights and side markers together were $700. That does NOT include all the sheetmetal, radiator, grille, header panel and whatnot this car will need. God knows there are some hit in the rear that would make great donors. I hope it can be saved but those are the worst pictures I have ever seen!
Someone hand me that large fork......
At first glance, I thought this was the coolest Neon ever. Then I realized that Cragar is on the trailer. :o
