I'm looking at options to get stronger internals. One option is the choice of cams & springs. Assume money is not a factor, would you go with MM factory , Ford GT cams & springs, or Crane cams & springs?

Why, and what benefits should I expect given 15# of boost and no limit on RPMs thru the TC and the transmission? Other cam/spring comments?

Thanks, folks.
John

For optimal power you need to get cams for boost, vehicle weight, transmission, rear gear.

If money is not a consideration, get custom grind cams from Rauscher. A little less expensive and very good performance is Comp Cams 106260 or 106360, they're very streetable. Use Comp beehive springs.

Jesel cam followers would go nicely with your custom cams. Pricey but very nice.

+1 on the comp cams seems most mod motor guys w/comp cams are happy with them.

What about using FR500 cams?

What about using FR500 cams?

If not in Cali, there are better cams out there. The Ford GT cams are really mild and minimal gains over stock in NA form. Better with the FR500s but still mild compared to current generation 4v cams from comp. I could barely make out cam lope (cold start) on both cams but slightly more on the FR500s.

Even the comp 106260 has a very subtle lope, and they're more aggressive than both the GT and FR500.

Sounds good. Will our engines go to 7K with these cams & the better springs? Will the cams have a relatively flat torque curve from, say, 2k on?

Thanks for the ref and for the part number.

Power will likely level off at 6500-6800, see my latest dyno sheet...
