i think come spring i'm going to need axle bearings and axles. i also probably need to replace the LSD clutches. i can also get a CVPI 3.55 LS rear axle for cheap with about 10K on it. will the rear diff from a 2010 vic fit the marauder?

Why do you think you need all that work?

To answer your question, yes...and it'll be 31-spline (better) as well.

if i take the car out of gear and coast i can hear it rumble and feel a slight vibration in the car. put it back in gear it's fine while accelerating or decelerating. pretty sure that's the axle bearings. when i go around corners i feel the car rumble a bit as well. that i believe is the clutch in the diff. i know it's not the tires as i have changed them. it's not the front bearings. checked those. i've also looked at the back of the car and the previous owner did a LOT of smoke shows from the amount of rubber i found melted to the rear wheel wells. i'll pull the axles in the spring to make sure but i'm pretty sure i'm screwed.

when did they switch to a 31 spline setup in a panther?

2005.

If you're getting a rumble on cornering, you may just need a fluid change. If the limited-slip friction modifier is depleted the clutches will chatter. It's an easy and inexpensive thing to try, anyway.

Bad axles will rumble all the time the car is moving, not just coasting in neutral. I had that issue with Phoebe and if the car was going forward, it rumbled...didn't matter whether I was cornering, accelerating, coasting, whatever, it stayed the same.

did the fluid change already with the additive. didn't make a difference.

The rear axle assembly will fit, I just pulled one from an 08' for the guts for my MM.

Certainly cheaper than buying new stuff at the dealer.

It'll look like this out of the car.

Did you check your u-joints. Sometimes they will not make noise while under load, acc or dec, but while coasting in neutral, they are turning with the rear axle, with little load, just resistance from turning tranny.

nope u-joints are good. is there going to be an issue with the air ride sensor attaching to a 2010 CV axle?

If your axle bearing are going you'll more then likely blow the axle seals out. So if you got gear oil on the inside of your rear wheels you got blow axle bearings. And you also might have the TSB of the axles being lathed away. The more you drive it like that the more its gonna cost you and the more that will need to be replaced. It took a while for mine to blow the seals to where I would notice I had a problem. Mine never hummed but I started getting gear oil inside my wheels pull them and replaced the bearing seals and axles. Well long story short all the metal shavings had did there damage already and I started developing a hum in the rear. I replaced everything but the diff and gears and it still didnt go away so I'm pretty sure the gears had been messed up from the metal shavings. I ended up getting rid of my MM before digging into it any deeper.
How long ago did you get your MM?? I wonder if you ended up with mine.
Air ride sensor is connected to the Watts link so you will be fine.

Air ride sensor attaches to the Watts link, so no problem there.

Does the sides on the outside of your van say "Free Candy"?
Since it's carpeted inside and all.....

I wish I could find a complete rear for cheap. I need one to use for a mockup to have a 9" made that will be a bolt in swap.

Do you just need the housing? I can accomodate you with that? PM me.

Not at all, I just refuse to ride around in a POS, it looks much better than painted metal, plus, it's about a million times quieter.

As a sidenote, I used to go on a jobsite, and would always get the "it must be nice to be able to drive a________", referencing to my trucks that I would drive, no one says that about a cargo van.

They feel sorry for you, and throw money at you because they think your poor....... :D

Needs to have brackets for control arms, shocks, ABS sensors, brakes, calipers.

I pulled the brakes and components, it is the housing with all the brackets, it's your for shipping if you like, otherwise, scrap metal pile will be in line for it.:(

Very interested, does it have axles and pinion yoke? Those will be necessary for dimensions and setting up a jig. I could always come up with rotors & calipers.

...I have had 2 axle shaft bearing failures. There was no noise, roughness, vibration--just leaking seals--both times. If you can find a good 2006< 3:55 axle assembly to swap, it is the easiest way to go. You can then rebuild what you have, at your leisure, as your budget allows.
