I have a Hurst line lock on my car so does Levi, both of us had issues at the shoot out, the kit was installed per hurt instructions, I have figured out what the issue is, and what is the fix, Hurst shows the solenoid going in between the master cylinder front feed line and the ABS line MC1 this will not work, with the Hurst Shifters 1745000 - Hurst Roll Controls but this is what I feel will work, and will try this later this week, as you can see in the Diagram, http://www.joelynch.org/cobrasite/Joe/lxnet/line-lock.html they are showing it in between the master cylinder and ABS unit this will not work, it will back feed the ABS. What you will have to do is run two Hurst ABS solenoids, and they have to go after the ABS unit, one on each line going to the front calipers and tie them in to the same switch, this will then allow for full front wheel lock up, and not bleed to the rear, this probably hurt both of our times, now Lethal performance sells this twin kit for almost 400.00. It is far cheaper to buy the Hurst Shifters 1745000 and install it, I will post detailed pictures of this.

i have had my hurst line lock in for about 4 years - single unit - never a problem - the hold button is tied into my cruise control

Well my friends call hurst they will tell you it is not to be used with ABS, and they told me what I proposed is correct.

Alright guys, this is the malfunction with my linelock at the shootout i was talking about. Not anything else. My car has 13,0p00 miles on it, its not the posi, spider gears or any of this zack related nonsense that was suggested. Dennis has been on the phone and email with Hurst getting all the technical details. I have emails from hurst to DR and the problem is with kits compatibility with our car. Thanks for the calls you made dennis. I will get back to you soon.

so here's my question, lots of cars on here have had the line lock on for years (including mine) with no issue. . . if this was a problem inherent in the system wouldn't this have come up before? Is this something that only has to do with cars with traction control? Was the lock used with the wrong port on the ABS?

No, it was used on the port in the instructions, I called Hurst I spoke to there technical department. I was told that this will not work with ABS and T/C and he told me it has to be installed after the ABS unit and as I said Lethal performance sells the dual kit, I can't answer your question as to why yours works, I can say that if it is installed as shown it can cause the rear wheel to partially lock, so I will fix this it is as simple as that. And Hurst technician what I proposed would work.

I was told that this will not work with ABS and T/C

That seems to be the entire issue right there as I thought. I'll not worry about it anymore then since I don't even have TC

The single unit between the master cylinder and ABS unit will work for '03 300A cars. The '03 300B and all '04 cars need to use two solenoid valves and they should be installed after the ABS unit. The problem is caused by the traction control system.

Thank you Brian for restating exactly what I said earlier, on a lighter note Brian my self and Chris Wright all have free rooms next year at the heavy weight shoot out after, the totally unprofessional and rude behavior of the night clerk we had our rooms booked at this year, and the clerk was fired, amazing what a simple phone call can resolve.

which is inaccurate and would cause confusion, the issue is not the ABS, but the T/C activation of the ABS. All you had to say from the start is that this is a problem for T/C cars  Seems to me as though everyone else knew that the T/C cars work differently, I even pointed out, after which you stated ABS with T/C. . . :shake:

i guess thats why i dont have a problem - i have an 03 A car

Ditto, my 300A and line lock works fine. Either way, seems to me that if you can't get the donuts rolling in the first second of mashing the pedal then you don't need a line lock anyway!

Just roll it out John Force style and back up to the beams! :P

Yes they said ABS with T/C and I told Levi that and there instructions never stated this, and I did forget to mention this, it was a simple mistake easily corrected, with twin solenoids.I hope every one has a nice weekend as I was trying to do.

Where did you stay? I had an issue with the night guy at the Jamison Inn. We reserved 2 rooms, got there, he asked name, told him and he said 2 rooms I says yes 2, he runs my card for 1 and says he will do the other separate??? red flag. Then after the first one he says we have a problem, we do not have 2 rooms reserved and he is booked. I says you tolded me we had 2 rooms and he goes but 2 did not get reserved, huh???? Would not give us another room but told me he would give money back. Then says good luck finding a room for that good a price on short notice. He was a total jerk, we left and got another room for about $6 bucks more apiece which is chicken feed so all's well that ends well, but, for an instant I wanted to dot his eye, but later I prayed for him and felt better.

Yes it was the PIG at the Jamison inn now called the Magnason inn, and he was fired. I would call and get a refund on the room, and yes I came very close to going to jail. But I knew better, so did Brian, he was lucky Nancy did not wip his ass for all of us.

This is just weird, Dude smelled and had a smart mouth. I was just leaving it and not calling anyone (Jamison Inn) as I figured he would get his. I liked the Jamison and have stayed there maybe 3 or 4 times in the past. OBTW I got a refund slip before leaving. Don't like to see anyone lose their job but he was over the top. What did he do to you guys?
