So my night is on the edge of complete disaster. And need some help. I did a coolant flush on my marauder,. Used oem fluids..no problems. Have done millions of flushes before and never had a problem. Noticed the car was starting to get hot as well as having no heeat. But I assume there's air in the system. Which is normal.and I've done everything I can to help bleed it out. Then as I drove the car is felt as if it was bogging out and had loss of power. So shut the car ddown..let it sit..started it again..and now I'm getting a rattling noise from my drivers valve cover..baddd and seems to be getting worse..scared to touch the gas of how loud it gets. And the car will also bog down hard at idle. But won't really make the nosie. Wtf happened?? Did I overheat and blow the head?..did I get water in the oil? And car is still getting hot. I have several years experience with cars work on them every day as well as a part time job at a enogne shop and this has me stumped and worried. I have a horrible feeling somthng happened. I'm going to drain the oil 2mrw to see what it looks like.

Can you hear the noise from a distance or do you need to put you head against the head to hear it?

Idle I have to put my ear to it..when rpms are up can hear it from a distance. I def still have air in the lines to I'm going to bleed it again..I think its getting hot and triggering the knock sensor which is why my idles bogging down

This is the correct procedure to burp the system: http://reischeperformance.com/refill

everything is ok now..motor was air bound and was overheating and triggering knock Sensor. Noise went away completely and engines runng smooth as ever and temp is right where it needs to be. Had to bleed it 2 more times and then everythng went back to normal....

My Escort knocks something FIERCE when it has overheated in the past, major loss of power and all kinds of BAD rattles. Quite normal when too hot, i'm sure your fine. Congrats on getting this turned around.

When the engine computer senses overheating it goes into "limp home mode" to save the engine.

You're lucky! By the time it hits "Limp home mode" you could be warping heads.

When refilling, I always feel the heater hoses after a couple minutes and if they aren't getting warm, I'll shut it down and burp it again... I can honestly say I've never overheated any engine using the heater hose as a guide... I've never did a flush on a 32V engine but I can't imagine it being any different...

Anyone else rev the engine while you have a funnel in the crossover tube with coolant in the funnel? After letting the entire system get up to temp for a while and it appears that the system is free of air, I've reved the engine and seen lots more bubbles come out of the system. I'll do this until it's clear and it's good to go.

It's different... see the burping procedure mentioned in the thread.
