What is the correct diameter and part number for the grooved idler above the A/C compressor and the smooth idler next to it??
I have ordered Gates idlers and they are both 3.5" diameter while the Ford OEM parts are 3.0" diameter!!:argue:
I CANNOT GET MY BLOWER BELT ON with the new Gates idlers so I had to put the old ones back on temporarily!!!!!!!!:mad2:
Part numbers for the Gates 3.0" ones would be nice if anyone has them......Rock Auto only lists the 3.5" versions.....Grrrrr!!!:argue: :shake:

'jack, I don't know the Goodyear numbers, but the Dayco numbers are 89007 for the smooth pulley and 89051 for the ribbed one. The Dayco site lists them both as 76mm, which comes out to 2.99xxx inches...sounds like someone gave you the wrong number for the Goodyear pulleys.
FWIW, Tascaparts.com sells the Motorcraft versions for $16.14 (smooth) and $20.28(ribbed).

Gates...not Goodyear and CarQuest gave me the 3.5" idlers??

Here are the stock belt numbers:
Belts Serpentine:
(NAPA) – PBH4060923 - stock
Gatorback (Goodyear) – 4060922 - stock
I assume the Gates # will contain "406092x".

Well.....I went to CarQuest and they don't even offer the fixed idlers but they do have the smooth tensioner replacement that I have used before so I got one....3.0" diameter!!
THEN...I went to NAPA and BOTH of the idlers they list for Marauders are 3.5"!!!!:argue: :mad2: :shake:
So I asked the guy to look them up for an '04 CV and the idlers for the CV are 3.0" so I got the grooved one from NAPA for $26.xx !!
Now I have to get a 107.5" Dayco PolyCog belt and I'll reinstall the blower in the morning and go back to having F-U-N!!!!:D

Nearest Ford counter is 30 miles away and my guy at the "Discount Dealership" is 60 miles away and I was not headed anywhere with the blower OFF the car!!:shake:
Anyone needing these idlers can simple get the correct ones by asking for them for an '03-'04 Crown Vic..........ALL VENDORS I checked have the bigger ones listed...wonder why??
