View Full Version : May I borrow your Marauder?

Here is the situation gang. A few months ago I was doing work for the Rock N' Roll Fantasy Camp. I drove a few of the high class musicians around in my Marauder before I had my engine problem. Everyone loved the car. It is slick looking, fast, comfortable and luxurious. I got a call today asking if I would be able to pick up some of the people from hotels to the camp this weekend. I told them my trucks transmission just went out... and it did after three weeks! I mentioned how my drummer has a Chevy Cavalier, but it's 2 doors. The camp wants a big sedan like our car. I already called up friends and family. No friends (outside of here) have big cars like ours. Parents need their sedan and so this place is my last resort.

Here is what would go on. I need to borrow someones car either early thursday (8am) or even wed (today). It will be returned monday. The car would be used just for picking up people NOT MUSIC GEAR. The car will be parked in a city garage during the day and my garage at night... I cleaned it out recently. No late night fun either.

Some of the musicians there will be...

Kip Winger -Winger
Dickey Betts -The Allman Brothers Band
Mark Farner -Grand Funk Railroad
Mitch Ryder -Mitch Ryder and The Detroit Wheels
Rudy Sarzo -Quiet Riot, Ozzy Osborne
Joey Molland -Badfinger

In return all I can do at this point is fill it up, detail it (even if you wanna wait until spring) and get signatures from the musicians at the camp. I am fully insured and will not drive like a madman.

I know this posting seems weird, but it's all I can think of. I already looked into rentals, but making the camp cover something like that would cost over $700 for anything close to a Marauder. That is my last resort, but they all know the Marauder, they all love it.

Let me know if we can work something out. Or PM me if you don't wanna affiliate yourself with me.

Only helpful comments please, no criticism or rudeness.

Thank you for reading.

BTW I know I posted this on another part of the board.

This begs teh question: Do you have enough Kerosene to get my car from Georgia to Chicago?

FordNut
11-17-2010, 07:18 AM
Sure, come on and get it...

Let's see, $100 for gas each way, $50 for gas locally, whatever it costs to come pick it up (maybe $70), whatever it costs to get back home (another $70), food & lodging since it's too far to make the round trip in one day (another $100)... that's at least $500 in expenses. Rent a Grand Marquis locally.

SURE he would!!!
I would, I'm serious. I like all the musicians listed, I'd try and get them to sign the car somewhere. Just think if they liked the car enough to get one, and hung out with us. It's only a car, people, it's not like he asked to borrow our little sister.

"Yeah, but what if a few 'doobies' got dropped on your leather seats, and someone drank too much vodka and :puke:ed all over the interior, and then the musicians gave your Marauder the "Hotel Room" treatment, and then.......OH Forget it!....it would be bad enough having Dom drive and 'take care' of your Marauder!!

LOLZ at the hotel room treatment! Hey Dom said he'd clean it. I trust Dom, I'd let him use it. Especially if pictures of them with my car were taken. Rudy with his guitar leaning against ol' 1 of 328, that would be cool.

A bottle of Windex & a pressure wash will only go so far.....

Prices for this "camp" range from $1999 to $2999 and they can't afford a rental? Dom, they must really think you're a fish (without Country Joe).

^^^^^^
LOL

Hey I just gotta say thanks guys. I was expecting this, but it's alright. I got a few PMs saying people would actually do it if they were closer to me. It just shows how strong this community really is. If your goal was to get me down it didn't work, if anything I feel better from the PMs. If I could make the trip I would, but I just don't have the time.

People don't rent out Marauders... at least no where near me.

So thank you. I don't need one until saturday in case someone changes their mind. I'll take good care of it.

Well keep passing off the harsh words and I'll just keep laughing.

BTW I loaned out my Marauder to someone for a week. I had no problems and was rewarded with a tank o' gas. As much as I love mine it's still just a car.

Later gang.

Well I am fonder of my car than my sister, he can borrow her, the musicians would probably prefer it.

honestly if i didn't use my 7 daily and relied on it i would seriously consider it (even though its not a rauder). i would love for them to sign the dash! some of those guys are no joke and it would be a really neat thing to have as a music lover. Dom might drive his car like he stole it but i highly doubt he would trash anyone's ride.
