Since last year I noticed that the driver side heated seat does not heat. I also had an issue with the door controls for the passenger window. I had the whole control panel replaced which fixed that issue, and although the heated seat LED is lit my butt is not.:fire:
Any thoughts on where I could go with this?
Thanks.

If factory heated seats are anything like the aftermarket ones that my friend installs, the heating element looks sort of like a "under the seat" seat cover in 2 pieces mounted on the foam. It could be inside the seat unit itself. However, he recommended looking under the seat for wire disconnect. He doesnt suspect a fuse since the switch is on the same fuse and lit. Also, if the 2 seat pads (lean back and seat cushion) have come disconnected from the harness, the heat wont work either. Also, the lean back and the seat cushion have SEPERATE pig tails in the seat. It only takes ONE disconnected to kill the heat for both

most likely the heater element in either the seat cushion or seat back has burned up. It is very common in Ford vehicles to see burned heater elements. get yourself a DVOM set to OHMS. find the harness that goes up into the seat cushion and seat back, check the 2 pins. if it reads open then you need a new seat heater element.

Search for my thread on this last year, I was able to repair quite easy.

Most likely the heater element. Mine went out on my 08 Taurus earlier this year. They don't use the same brand heater elements now in vehicles as Ford did years ago. New ones are more junk.
