I got to Union Grove Wi. Greatlakes Dragaway today about 12:30 it was cool and breezy about 44* the track was pretty empty maybe 20 cars & Trucks.
I got my wheels/tires mounted and headed for tech behind a 2004 Black Cobra with a cool Cobra snake mural on the hood.
As I was heading to the staging lanes a guy in a AMG C class flags me down, to notify me the last guy spewed oil down both lanes of the track.
It was a huge mess synthetic too boot, would probably be a long wait.
So I parked it in the pole position and headed back by the concessions for some coffee.
It seemed like forever but finally the announcement came to resume.
I get back to where I left her parked and a Black Lightning and the Cobra I teched behind Had joined me.
I am killing myself as I type for not grabing a shot of the three all sitting there all pretty.
All Black, All Ford, all Eatons! :beatnik:
I was the slowest of the group The Cobra with a pulley and cat back did 11.7@124 and the Lightning on fake slicks did 12.0X@117
They got one lane cleared at first and the first and only pass on drag radials yielded my new best of 12.7@112.61
I thought I did a nice burnout and it felt fairly stickey
but a measley 2.18 60' tells you I had trouble getting her to hook .
Pulling back was not enough I had to entirely get out of it and try again.
I did not want to hot lap it but I knew, I had not done anywhere close to her best.
I did get right back into the staging area,
Unfortunately I took a sharp object though my rear tire and had to go back to stock rubber.
I did take a final pass on OEM tires which confirmed the first trap speed was not a fluke which netted 12.94@111
I have a free pass for tomorrow and it is supposed to be 60's*
