Looks like I will be back to driving the Marauder this winter. My trucks tranny went out again and let's just say my Marauder should be just fine, so don't bring that stuff up. Also it was a real shot in the foot for just selling my winter setup with intention for the truck, but whatever, no biggie that stuff happens.
I was going to look for the "steelies" and wanted to know about what size to go with. From my understanding it must be from a 03+ CV. I was going to hunt a few junkyards for wheels.
Now as far as winter tires going on 16s I need to know that too.
Thanks!

How many transmissions/rebuilds is this for the Blazer?

6 at least -maybe you will put a trans in it and then SELL IT! Then you can go buy another one that is not all messed up! Just saying again for the 5th time :)
I thought you had winter tires and rims?

6 transmissions?........... .For real!?
Dom, quit wasting what little money you have on that jinxed POS Blazer and sell it!
Get a good FORD truck and live happily ever after.
BTW: If you really have dumped 6 transmissions into that truck, there is obviously something very wrong with either:
The tranmission rebuilder.
The transmission installer/installation.
or....The driver.
Are 16" a requirement? I got a set of 17" steelies (was told from an 06? CVPI) and I put Kumho KC15 235/60/17 snows on them and that works great.

Had is correct.

It's not a POS and I'm never selling it. Ever. Don't ever insult my truck, ever.

And you don't think that ELEVEN is an excessive.....perhaps even a ridiculous amount?.....

I already have! If you want....I'll just call it "the transmission eating turd".
Seriously Dom, At some point past.....say....THREE transmissions, you have to say: "WTF is wrong here!?"............:shake:

Man ...... you did not like my cute smiley face :) ?
I already told you something is tweaked in that truck and things are off center that's why you are eating transmissions. To try and figure it out with your 4-wheel drive is pretty tough for a mechanic -let alone a person without alot of mechanical expertise or money. I would seriously put another junkyard trans in it and go and sell it. Find the same year/body style in the Southwest (non-rusted) and buy it. You will be way ahead in time/money and most of all enjoyment. I understand your personal attachment to it but at this rate it's becoming a very expensive lawn ornament!
Just my .02 and that is the last I am going to say on it. Good Luck brother.

Most transmission coolers have a thermostat so the fluid only gets in when its hot enough, once a trans grenades the metal is in the fluid and in the cooler. If you never change that cooler it will keep releasing metal into your new transmissions over and over.
Replace the cooler and all lines next time.
Just saying... eleven?

Well it's had 11. I didn't ruin 11. Aamco screwed up the service three times by putting car transmissions in and later realizing they didn't work due to my transfer case. So, it's had 11, but driven with 8.

Okay, revise all the "WTF 11 Transmissions?" above with "WTF 8 Transmissions" and it still holds true. If you've gone through 8 tranny's than POS definitely applies, sorry bud

Wrong. You don't base an entire vehicle on a reoccurring issue. Blame the tranny shops or the Th700R4 tranny in general, not the whole truck. You're a good man, I'm really shocked you would put a smile logo upon insulting something that means a lot to me. Shame shame shame. :shake:

There is no reason, even with 4wd not to get 125k out of it. I think you need to stay away from Aamco.

I went through 8 transmissions in my Marauder. Is the whole car a POS? No.
I switched to a 4R100.

Some just don't get it.
You've gone thru more trannys than a group of sailors on shore leave in the Phillipines.

TOTALLY different situation!
Brian, you were/are pumping tons of HP through a transmission that is (sometimes viewed) as not as reliable/strong as a TH7004R....
let alone one that is behind a much lower HP SBC 350.
I put 230,000+ miles through my '96 Blazer's 700R4, with plenty of hard use......and never had a single hiccup from it.
BTW: If I had gotten to transmission #3 in my Blazer, it would have been long gone.....SOLD!

Not really different. I didn't start breaking them until I had 150hp more than stock. I would manually downshift it and give them hell. After I broke a few I stopped, but I started towing. They broke again. Finally I decided it call it quits and just cruise, but even then I still had them break on me.

Fair enough, I shouldn't belittle your love of the blazer. For me, I'd probably be through after 8 trannies (Shove it Casey) but when you love something its hard to let go.

There is 10's of 1000's of barely streetable race cars out there running the 700r4 with no issues. That trans has been around for a LONG time and proven beyond strong, find a real trans shop to perform a good rebuild and be done. No more used ones and no more aamco! If you truly love the truck, then you would only provide the best. Any less and you are abusing your truck and should get a divorce.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Yup my POV EXACTLY!
The reason I love it so much was because it's been around since I was six years old. Back before I had a libido, before I had to worry about life, before I knew how the world worked, before I had to worry about my parents, before I had to worry about money. It was around when all I had to care about was going to Grandmas, enjoying the weekend and listening to The Beach Boys. It was only driven on weekends and sometimes special times on the way to school. Getting into that think just makes me think of what life was like 20 years ago and how much I miss it. I know I probably sound way too young to be thinking like that, but it's the truth. When it works it helps me forget about reality, when it breaks reality sinks back in.
