recently i have noticed my gas pedal is starting to stick pretty bad off idle. i've tried a few different lubes trying to get it to go away but i think it might be worn out. when you come off idle it sticks so by the time you've put enough pressure to get it moving the engine spikes to about 1500 to 2000 rpm. parking lots and in and out of the garage are getting dangerous having the car launch like that. i can get a new one for about 150 but i wanted to check to see if there were any tricks i might not know about first.

my other problem is how do i tell if my pedal has memory? it's adjustable but i'm not sure what they mean by memory or how to tell the difference.

Sounds like you may have melted the cable on the EGR tube. You'll have to replace it if it sticks, no way around it, I tried on my GF's car when her's melted and after wasting a hour, it was just easier to get a new one and move on.

The pedals on my car at least, are not memory. I just set them and they never move from that position.

you think it's a cable issue? i figured it was the pivot point inside the car.

Simple way is remove the cable off the pedal check the play on the pedal itself. Or remove the cable off the TB and hold it straight out and see if you can move the pedal. If its sticking like that, Im pretty sure its a cable issue.

My wife's did that, cleaning the throttle body and a little WD40 on the cable & linkage fixed it.

No memory on pedals or seats.

Mine has always been a little sticky, worse in cold weather, I just give it a little tap with my foot, and then add the throttle, it was fun getting use to it at first.

I've seen two Ford throttle bodies that had the stick issue at rest(neither were Marauders)... In both cases, I slightly adjusted the base idle set screw till it would not allow the throttle blade to fully shut and stick in it's bore, never any issue afterward... In my cases the adjustment was less than 1/4 turn...

It's a dirty throttle body

^^^^^^ Cleaning would not fix the ones I had problems with...

It's a dirty throttle bodyAgreed.

Phoebe had the EXACT same issue as the OP and the throttle body behind the blades was all gunked up. Used CRC MAF cleaner and a few Q-Tips and no more stick.

As for the pedals and seats, they are manual only...no memory.

My car has the same issue. I thought it was the gas pedal sticking, and sprayed lube all over the place, before realizing it was the throttle body, like other guys have mentioned here.
Trouble is, I clean it, and it only works good for a month or so, then the sticking comes back.

Mine has the same problem, only happens in colder weather. Goes away when i spray some lube on the pivot point on the gas pedal (only last a couple of weeks). Is there a bushing that can wear out on the pedal assembly?

+1 on cleaning the throttle body. Gunk buiilds up and the blade is hard to open from the completely closed position. $5 for a can of throttle body cleaner and 30 minutes and you'll be good to go.

mine was a very slightly bent throttle shaft, binding on the throttle body.

i checked the throttle body and cable. everything seems to be very smooth and moves freely.
