We use my wife's Pacifica for hauling a small 4x8 trailer around. Since it has separate blinkers and brake lights it needs an adapter. Mine recently burned out but I couldn't bring myself to pay the $80 for a new adapter so I built my own.

It's based on a quad xor gate where the brake lights feed to both left and right gates. Then the blinkers feed to the other inputs of the gates. The outputs go to 2n2222 transistors that pull the gates low of the 20Amp P channel fets. Each output is protected with a 5amp trip resettable fuse. About $6 in parts and some stuff I had around and I back in business! Plus if something burns out again I can just fix it.

Nice, always good to know how to do something like this, dealership would have charged you about 300

I'm in electrical engineering and can appreciate this

Did you just buy the wafer board and add everything to it?

Yeah, I just wired point to point. I keep asking work to buy a laser board etcher from LPK but no bites. I've used the $50 board houses for personal stuff before but this was too simple.

I install those all the time at work, and they do go out pretty often.
They go for $56 at work and they can be installed in less than 1/2 hour depending on the vehicle. Thats cool you put that together, maybe it will last longer than the crappy ones they sell
