I've been reading up for weeks now on the eaton swaps for our marauders. And seems fairly simple. I've done a few swaps on mustangs as well as a few other cars and I think its time do do mine next. I've developed a knock in my motor so I have to yank the motor soon. And right now its eitheer do a 5.0 stroker or an eaton swap. I have a friend with a complete drivetrain from a cobra. I'm considering buying the whole setup and dropping it in my car. Now I'm assuming I won't need any of the conversion brackets or the bypass tube and a few other parts. but will the cobra setup drop in no problems? Will power steering pump hook up the same? Is the harness the same? what I want to know/is what will I have to do to get a cpompl, ete drop in from a cobra to work in my car. I know ill have to move battery and make an intake and egr delete. And all that other fun stuff. But is easier to use the cobra setup or take a different approach?

It has been done but you will have to notch the frame if you keep the terminator front engine dressing.

There are several ways to do it.

The Cobra power steering pump is different, plus the Cobra has Hydroboost braking, whereas the MM has vacuum assist.
If it were me, I'd use the MM power steering pump, and bolt it to the Cobra block.
There are alternator relocation brackets out there, might want to look into those.
Also obviously you'd have to rig up pedals, and a hydraulic clutch master cylinder/slave cylinder. I doubt there's enough room for a quadrant/cable setup but I might be wrong...

The big thing I think is the Cobra alternator location, it is not up top like N/A 4Vs, it is located on the lower driver's side, pretty sure there would be some interference with the frame rail on that side......?

I'm just swapping the motor..no trans..I was hooping using the whole cobra motor I could avoid having to buy brackets. Will the cobra harness plug right into the marauder?

See post #2 above.

Basically two options:

1. Keep the Cobra front skirt and notch the frame.

2. Replace the front skirt with the one from the MM and buy the brackets.

Swap the timing cover, the cobra setup sucks. If I owned a cobra I'd sawp to an mm cover and use terrys brackets.much less time and hassel specially if you have both engines on the bench so to speak

How much of the frame needs to be notched? Inch or two?

Id end up using the marauder ps pump anyways. I know some modifications need to be made to the marauder harness as well as maf extender. Does any one lknow if I could just use the cobra engine harness?

Thanks that's what it looks like ill be doing. Swapping covers and doing the brackets. I work at an auto parts store as well as an engine shop so most of the parts will be easy to get. How much do the conversion brackets go for? Also does any one make the crossover tube yet or do I have to fab my own?

PM Terry (gortch) for info and pricing on his brackets.

ImpalaSlayer can get you hooked up with a source to modify the COT.
