Don't know if this was posted yet, but jalopnik has a list of the count of each make and model vehicle that was traded in under the cash-for-clunkers program.

Checking out the list, there were no Mercury Marauders traded in:

The full list:

There were some mighty nice cars traded in, though:

What a shame 38 94 impalas had to lose their lives, and even more shame for 45 95s and 32 96s!

Well to be the agitator, who is to say one of those 58 M75 '03 Grand Marquis was not a Marauder???

I was going to clunker my '93 Grand Marquis but it got too good of gas mileage, still I see one was traded and two '92s as well... Those are the only two years that(supposedly)did not qualify...

My guess is that none of the 58 M75s is a Marauder and I say that because on the Impala, the whole package was just an RPO code, not an actual VIN-coded model. Not only that, but if you look at the list, it has all 94-96 Impala's listed as "Caprice/Impala". So ours probably would've been "Grand Marquis/Marauder" if it were listed.

There were something like 50 Lightnings traded in. So sad.

A couple of weeks ago, Top Gear posted some pictures of cars in the UK waiting to be crushed. There was an airfield completely filled up with cars waiting to be crushed. What a waste. A waste of OUR MONEY, don't forget.

:puke: That's just sick why the hell would they allow such historic pieces of automotive history to be sacrificed as if they were a bunch of worthless trash like old hondas, stratus', tercels, omnis, chevettes, etc. There should be a limitation as to what is considered a clunker. It would be nice if there was a super auction for these cars so they can have 1 last chance to be purchased for cheap or at least parts.
