Heard there will NOT be peer judging this year.

Supposedly the show cars entered are going to be judged by actual judges this year!

Make sure you put MercuryMarauder.net as your car club, 183, is 2003-2004 Mercury Marauder class. I
If you are Supercharged, put Modified, NA, put Stock.
We will all be parked together either way. It just spreads the trophies around if we get a big enough turnout that they have to split the class for us.

Come the end of January Ill be putting a big push for hotels and getting this event together.

Do we have a special code for the Hampton Inn? Connie called and they are booked for 6/3 already. No special code. :( I talked to Connie a few minutes ago. You have to book 2 nights! They do have some rooms available (no 2 bedded rooms). So Jack and Connie got a room for Fri and Sat and so did we. (But Eric is thinking we may stay in Maugansville at about $150 less. We'll see.);)

Maugansville, MD is 50 miles one-way from Carlisle, PA. With 2 cars for 2 days, gas alone will eat up about 1/2 your hotel savings. Plus it is an extra hour each way in the morning and evening. Seems like alot of inconvenience and time. You'll also miss out on the canopy parties .... but I guess you gotta do what you gotta do.

Last year most people stayed at the Hampton Inn. I am booked at the Hampton Inn again this year. Others were at the Hotel Carlisle a couple blocks away. A few folks were scattered elsewhere. Here are the websites for both ....

stay at the hampton--charlie's right, the gas cost will even out the higher room rate and less wear and tear on car, not to mention the longer drive each way. (Won't be the same if you're not there!!!)

Ray, you still might come out ahead. If I understand correctly we nned to book a certain number of rooms as a club, in order to possibly get a discounted nightly rate. How many rooms need to be booked .....I don't know. Maybe Fast Merc has that info????? The AAA rate I got was 161/night. "Denise" @ the Hampton said there is currently no standardized discount rate for our block of rooms.

I had to prepay, no refund, to get the rate I received, and, there were no double rooms available. There may still be some for the club. I used the net to register. So Brit has to sleep on a hide a bed, oh well. If she does't come, we have a party suite!
