FYI, the latest Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine (DEC 03) has listed the 2004 Marauder "Best in Class" for cars in the $30,000 to $40,000 class. This mighty list includes Audi A4 and A6, BMWs 325, 330, 525i series, Lexus ES 330 and IS 300, Mercedes-Benz C240 and C320 series, and Volvo S60 and S80 series.

I was at the local car wash in St. Pete Beach last Friday and those guys new what a MM was and they were ooing and awwing about the MM. When I got home to Georgia I took it to the car wash and they also were impressed and knew what it was. I think Mercury has done a very poor job marketing this car. Had they properly marketed the Marauder I think they would have met or even exceeded their sales goals. Stinkin Suits at corporate just don't get it.

If that class involved cars between $30-40k, the Car and Driver Accord would not be included since it maxes out at around $26-28k fully loaded with every possible option including the Nav system. That is pretty DAMN impressive, because the $30-40k class is an incredibly competitive hardcore segment for any car to be competing in. The competition in that class is just brutal with some of Japan's and Germany's finest competing there. Finally, our Marauder get's the respect it deserves!

Incidentally, I paid my last visit to the Dentist this morning. The latest issue of Car and Driver had a one sentence dis of the "underpowered" Mercury Marauder in a review article, kind of best and worst of the past and coming year. I'm so glad I have one. Really weird when you compare to some of the much more expensive euro cars they rave about that are in fact SLOWER than the Marauder in their own tests. So I guess those cars are not underpowered they are just slow! Bob

The latest JD Power report lists the GM as the most reliable in its class.

...are us-the loving owners!! A little good press is........nice, but I think if we had all paid attention to most(but certainly not all) car rags, we would be driving Camrys and Accords! :puke: Ow, that makes my head hurt!!

is that not many people have them. I'm sure I'm the only person on campus with a Marauder and I like it. Still think I may have to get the "Envirnment" license plate next year though.
