you can out whatever ture you want on it. Ive seen a few guys do same size tires. Its really a pref thing. you can rotate tires and what not. I prefer the 255 or a 305 if appicable on rear but thats just me

... as long as you don't have traction control, in which case you certainly CAN'T put on whatever tires you want.

Or you have to disable said traction control.

One thing you cannot do is put a smaller(then the front) tire on the rear.

Hi guys I am at the shop and the guy is telling me all four tires can be 235/55 18 is that true?

This ^^^^^ is only true for the early 2003 300A Marauders that don't have the traction control feature. TC was added about midway in the 2003 production run ... those are the 300B Marauders. All 2004 MMs had traction control.

If you have TC on your 2003 MM, you'll have to maintain a 3-6% size/height difference between the front and rear tires or else the TC will not like it. You'll have to turn the TC "OFF" every time you start the car.

The recommended 235/55/18 is not one of the standard sizes for the Marauder. They came with 235/50/18s on the front and 245/55/18s on the rear. Your shop guy seems to be "mixing" the sizes and aspect ratios. Not sure how the 235/55s would handle unless they are also performance rated tires with stiff sidewalls. JMHO.

I don't know why you would want to put smaller tires in the back anyway. Talk about loss of traction and looks.

^^^^^ What he said ^^^^^

What's the speed and load ratings for the tires you're considering?

Smaller tire in the rear affects the ABS.

I have an early '03. If you put the same size tires all around and replace in pairs instead of all 4, if the 2 worn ones are in the back instead of the front, making them have a slightly smaller diameter in the rear, you will set off the ABS warning light at high speeds. The car is designed for slightly larger diameter tires in the rear.

But do whatever you want to.

When the thread comes up later asking what's wrong, I'll happily say "I told you so". Ask the guys who ignored advice about driveshafts...

The car will look stupid if you do it.

why not just replace with factory sizes front and rear and be done with it , my .02.
