Clarify that. SAE or STD?

Clarify that. SAE or STD?
There are different scales that can be used, some read higher than others STD is always higher than SAE (which is the number people usually think of when quoting) So some dyno places will run the numbers in STD to make the results look more impressive, also there is a trick with the smoothing which can add a bit of hp on the graph.

Well sumpthin' ain't right, HP & TQ figures are SUPPOSED to be equal at 5250 RPM...

Yep STD scale and smoothing 5, kinda figured. That's at least 10 - 15hp more than it would say using SAE, and then a couple easy for the smoothing. Sorry. prob really 250some.

^^that's only because the scale total for the tq isn't the same as the hp, not a big deal, if the two had the same max they would cross, kinda silly not to just make it the same, but such is life

I feel cheated. Can they correct it if they saved the file or would they need to dyno again?

they should be able to adjust it on the computer and print you a new sheet so long as they saved it.

Well, sent them emailing asking them for the numbers without smoothing and on sae scale. Let's see what happens. So, how do the numbers look? Low, avg, high?

^^Nah dont worry lots of people do this; they can convert it for you as long as they saved it. or:
STD numbers = SAE when adjusted approx 2% - 4% lower. Multiply STD numbers by .98 -.96 to get SAE
If my math is right 260rw/287tq-265rw/293tq not bad still.

in that power range usually 10hp for STD instead of SAE and a little for the smoothing, maybe a couple. That's why I said 250some since it was at 271. Not a big deal, just a silly way to make the numbers look inflated compared to others quoting SAE.

Here's an example btw. See if they'll give you your drf files and you can see them in winpep7.

How come you have two set of numbers on each chart? Blue and red? Is that before and after? Difference is not too bad on the two scales. >10

I have all my dyno files since I bought the car. Downloaded Winpep7 so I could manage all the runs (add different runs to a single graph, etc.) and print them (free progie btw). The red is from the original engine with 118k on it and a few mods. The blue is the new forged sb with everything in my sig. Those are the best runs of both at the time. It has MORE hp/tq now. Been tuning it myself. ;)

My last dyno was 289hp/313tq on STD. So lets say 280hp/300tq, running 13.63 with the trans tune being way off. Hate to see what I do when I get 300hp and trans tune being on point. lol
