you will be happy with just the muffler swap. i think the aeros sound best like that. once you take out the rear 2 cats that kinda start to sound like ass and are really loud.

i already have the rear cats removed and an x-pipe. i dont want it to sound horrible. I like the way Ctrlravens car sounds.

I agree with impalaslayer that's why I'm going with the 40 series or either super 40 flows!

Thanks and yes I do have an H-pipe. I've never really liked the sound that X-pipe causes at mid to high end rpm range especially with straight-thru design mufflers.

Lol I just like the way the flows sound but are they a bad muffler?

They do flow more than a stock muffler but many just to increase the sound. If you're going to do something might as go with a muffler that increases sound and performance.

Yea I agree that the Aero's look beautiful as well as have the performance edge but I see headers in my future and don't want the car to sound way to loud!

Go with a resonated Aero Turbine muffler, AT2525XL.

What are the different gains/losses between x and h pipe. I thought they were similar.

H-pipe flows well at low end and creates good sound at low end rpm range.
X-pipe flows better than H-pipe at mid and high end range but can sound raspy at high end.

Being NA the power difference would only be seen on a dyno and it's maybe 2-3hp difference between the two and also depending on the rest of the exhaust system so for now it's mainly a sound preference as to which one to get. Once you get boosted and start trying to get squeeze out every bit of hp then X-pipe is a wise choice.

x-pipes (when constructed properly) always outperform H-pipes or no crossover at all

but typically what it boils down to is sound preferance, each do their own thing
