Engine Replacement (Chicago Area)

Would appreciate recommendations on shops / mechanics to do a engine swap. Engine gone @ 115K. Ford Service says no compression and needs to be replaced. Currently researching used engines and it looks as if I can get a used OEM anywhere from $1,900 to $3,200 depending on company and mileage.

I am now looking for leads on a shop in the Chicago Area (preferably North) to do the swap. Would like to track down one that has experience with the MM.

Have you spoken with Zack yet?

I think that he has removed and replaced more MM engines then anyone except the St. Thomas factory that built our Marauders.

Also, he might not be too far away from you to boot.

Get a new Aluminator and contact Zack to swap it.

now I am in process of taking out engine from my marauder.

No offense to the person with 3 posts who just joined last month and is offering to help, but Zack is a known entity and (like him or not) he knows the MM better than many here. I'd see if he's available.

R&R-ing a MM engine isn't all that difficult. I've heard even a caveman can do it. Modular is a wonderful thing.:D
