I was watching CHCH last night showing all the wipeouts due to snow. They showed a black MM with the summer wheels on in a snow covered ditch, looked a bit damaged. Anyone here?

MM is at 1:05 in report http://www.chch.com/index.php/home/item/1463-lake-effect-snow-is-a-hit-or-miss-on-some-communities

Ok...who's this...
"I don't feel like spending $700 on winter tires and rims, so I'll just risk driving my $50,000 Marauder on snow covered roads, and hope the Z rated tires grip the road!"
DUH!!!!

Not me thank goodness!
Mine is sleeping under her blanket until May.

Mine has the winter wheels/tires on with a few 40lb bags of kitty litter in the trunk. Best handling car in the snow I have ever had!

My car handles AWESOME in the snow. My question is, how many bags do you usually put in the trunk? I put 6 that are 50lbs each. I need to ask my friends up north, is this overkill?

meh. Ill drive my FWD M-Mystique beater instead and leave the M in the garage. Anything else would be uncivilized!

I run mine with General Altimax Arctic snow tires, and don't put any weight in the trunk at all.
Like CanadaSVT said, best handling car I've ever driven in the snow (outside of a 4x4 that is).

I have Blizzaks. They are incredible. I have never tried without weight. THe weight is for piece of mind I guess. Maybe I won't run any weight and see how it goes...

I had too many bad experiences with sand bags leaking in my old truck.
Didn't want to risk a mess in my trunk. Plus I need the room for my hockey bag.

I drove my old one with Nitrous year round. Wasn't too bad most of the time.
My new one will see less duty but some.

I have bags of plastic pellets, so no mess! Maybe I will lighten up to 4 bags instead of 6

Depends on how many gals work the late shift at Denny's, KA-POW. Thanks, I'll be here all week.

Before I had the 4x4's I used to look out the window and if the roads weren't plowed I called it a mental holiday, made a phone call and went back to sleep. No job is worth getting killed over.

wish our cars were worth $ 50,000 , i put on winter tires on grand marquis rims with no bags in trunk works out fine. Just keep gas tank full for weight,i like having room in trunk when i need it .

Ah,yes. But when I've been inside work for 10 hours while the snow hits I like to be able to make it home safely. Last thing I want is to be forced to stay at work :)

I hear you on this...But on the bright side it gives you plenty of time to booby-trap your co-workers work stations;)

Great game for sure! Sadly though, recovery after playing seems to be getting worse every year. :(
My inversion table gets put to good use in the winter. Ha ha!
