Team,
What are the likely canidates for a noise from the right side rear axle area. Axle bearing or carrier bearing? The frequency increases with road speed. Seems to be on the out side rather than the center of the car. No noticable change in severity when accellerating or braking. Haven't checked anything yet, like tires or brakes, will do that first before taking to the shop. Or is it the limited slip? I have had this noise for some time. It just appears a little more than before.

most likely the axle and bearing will need to be replaced. pretty common amongst the Marauders. do a quick search and you'll find abunch of information

Mine started making a low clunking sound last week. Itook it to the shop and found that the bearring had worn out and f****d off my rearend. Get it checked when you can. Hopefully yours doesnt come out like mine did. Good luck.:D

ShinerBlack, most likely you have a bad axle. Early-build '03's had this problem frequently.
This is what mine looked like:

Pull the magnetic fill plug and see how much "Bright" metal is on it....mine looked like a bird's wing!!!
If it is going "wump...wump...wump" that increases in frequency with speed you can bank on the right side axle, bearing and seal....I replaced both side but the left was actually OK!!
Good Luck!!
