Was anyone else wondering when Directed got warp drive installed on his MM to give him 800 hp and a 8.9 1/4 ?

Isn't it weird, like in the Fast and the Furious, the cars were "10 second cars," but whenever they raced the 1/4, the scene took like a minute or more?
