I have a cone style air filter now since my dyno tune and I would like to secure it to the mounts from the factory airbox.
THE METAL MAF ADAPTER RESTS ON THE BRAKE LINES on top of the abs pump now.
I put a small piece of poly material as a temporary pillow to keep the two from chaffing.
Who has mounted the open style filter like JLT or PHP and secured the open end?

The PHP has a metal base that uses the stock mounts. I believe the JLT has something similar. You may have to fab something.

My JLT did come with any mounting stuff, I bought mine used off a member who had sold his MM a long time ago. Mine just hangs in the air, doesn't come into contact with anything besides the a very small piece of the top metal ring on the cone, its rubbed up against the washer fluid tank a few times. I've been messing around with cardboard trying to design heat shield box for it. Not going to use cardboard as the actual shield but as a template to get the right fit. I should be done it soon then going to get make it out of fiberglass or sheet metal.

I made up a little 'L' bracket out of aluminum and drilled a hole to slip onto the OEM mounting stud. Put the OEM nut on it and it holds the PVC shield up off the brake lines.... Simple and a bit crude, but works.

Get a roll of this:
23377
Cut off a small piece, bend it and slightly twist it, then slip one hole over the little bolt that is still sticking up from the top of your inner fender from when you took off your stock air-box, tighten it down. Then, unbolt the lower bolt that holds your maf to your filter and slip the bolt back thru the piece of hanger. Tighten it. Drop your socket and ratchet on the floor like a rap star who just ended a song, and walk the **** away while saying "yeea yeea, uh huh uh huh". Drink beer.

It works perfectly, and the holes are already drilled. I sold mine to guspech750, maybe if you rub his leg he will post a pic.

I left off what it is called:

Hanging Strap, Perforated, Hole Dia. 3/16-1/4 In, Length 10 Ft, Width 3/4 In, Thickness 0.025 In, Material of Construction Galvanized Steel, 24 Gauge

A dollar and 62 cents a roll, snitches.

I used metal strapping to hold up the bell housing while I had my engine out so I didn't need a trans jack at all. :D Good for strapping down farm animals and runaways also...
