Anyone have it and use it?
It replaces the oil fill cap.

Not using one but you might get under the hood oily/dirty, fumes in the passenger compartment and you'll certainly be defeating part of the emissions systems (tree hugger statement).

I wouldn't use one, I just installed my pcv oil catch can today. Was just curious about it.

The PCV system is a closed loop system. By adding a breather you'll vent the blowby into the atmosphere instead of back into the engine to be combusted.

I could be wrong but i don't think that would be bad for the motor :dunno:

Bad for the motor, no.
Bad for the environment, yes.

I don't know about the Marauders, but TONS of members on another site for Magnums/Chargers/300s (LX Forums) use these things on their cars...and the results are unbelievable! The amount of oil that is prevented from going right back into your throttle-body will astonish you.
This is a quote (words and pics) form just one of the members there:
"...well as some of you know i bought the first catch can.
I drove 500 miles home and here are the pics.

Yup.
They look great, though. Great item for a car run primarily on the track, but not too hot if you do mostly road driving for the reasons mentioned. ^^^^

Since my car has 152k miles on it now its actually needed since I get a lot of blow-by. So far my design has been working great.
I would say if you anyone was to get one, JLT makes a good one and if I had to do it again I would go ahead and get that one. I just decided to make my own for half the price.

The manufacturer's have used cloosed loop pcv systems for a reason. A vented pcv system will not affect performance but the oil vapors will enter the cabin and under WOT the oil will cover the cam covers.
Get a baffled catch can so the oil vapors dont coat the inside of the intake track.
musclemerc has a nice design and I recently installed it and it is awesome.
People have also been happy with JLT's catch can.

The PCV valve w/OEM system draws fresh air in through the intake tube which is air that is metered through the MAF.
If you use an open breather the air drawn in to the engine through the PCV valve will be un metered - potential lean mixture.

Where do you think all the air the PCV sucks up comes from :banana2:
