This isn't technical so I didn't post under GARAGE...
I'm at 70,000 miles with 4:10 rearend, K&N Pro charger, Xcalibrator SCT Program, Magnaflows, etc....
I'm considering a Trilogy supercharger...
Anyone see any problems putting it on a car with 70,000 miles on the clock..?
Oh.... and she's a daily driver...
As always thanks for the help and information....

With out knowing the history of your car I cannot answer. Suggest you do an oil and trans fluid analysis, compression and leak down test, total $125.
Assuming regular fluid changes and your vehicle has not overheated or engaged in burn out contests I would not hesitate to S/C.
For $125 get the above tests done. You don't want to spend north of $5K on an S/C to then find out you need an engine or trans rebuild.

That's very smart advice!

I did mine at just under 100,000 miles. I have owned mine since new and done all the service. Who knows ho long it will last, but its fun trying. If it blows, we move on anyhow, right? Cobra, Aluminator, whatever.

Ditto on mentioned advise. I wil do the same. I have 133,000 miles on the clock all hwy & will do the same this spring. I'am tired of walking by the boxes of complete eaton conversion parts. Either REOverload & I or the one & only Dave Mr. Impalla slayer will do the install.

I ran up 85,000 on my '03 MM in it's first two years---up and down the interstates.
Then the mods started. Trilogy went on in June of '06 and hasn't hiccuped once.

I installed my ProCharger at 84K miles and currently have 221K miles on the car.....engine has never been touched but rebuilt the trans and rear end at 160K and 177K respectively!!

Go for it and don't look back.......IF YOU PLAN ON KEEPING IT!! :D

Go for it if you feel the motor and trans are healthy .
I'm at 105K, the motor has been supercharged for 70,000.
Only recently, I upped the boost.
I doubt I'll get another 70K at this level.

I put my Novi unit on at 86 or 89k (can't remember), I'm 2nd owner, now have 119k and she runs great. Go for it.

i say go for it as well... assuming your gonna keep it... if your gonna sell, you likely wont find someone willing to pay additional $$$ for a supercharger.

Yeah, until you get one.

Then you start thinking about more boost, a built short block, transmission and rear end mods to handle the extra power; there's no known cure, once you've been bitten by the mod bug.

Ask me how I know... ;)

Agreed. As I look at my newly widened wheels and Mickey Thompson slicks, MMC Driveshaft, awaiting balance.... As I await delivery of the Eaton Tru Trac and think about what 31 spline axles to stuff in there.
Then I go to the box of special parts and see a 3.0 Pulley and imagine getting bigger injectors and upgraded fuel pump, another drive belt to add to the collection.
Oh, lest we forget about opening up the mufflers back to the rear bumper cover....
Brakes, yes brakes. I need to get after those too.
Then I ask the question, when will the transmission go? When will I push too hard and need a new engine.

So no, there is no imunity to this disease.

OK...good advice from everyone :beer:on installing a supercharger at 70,000 miles...
Now Question No. 2: Anyone know HOW MANY folks installed their "Trilogy Supercharger" THEMSELVES...?
First let me say that I have built engines before and a whole car (Kit) one time...so I think a buddy of mine and I can do it in his well equiped garage.
Thanks again for everyone's input...:bows:...I really appreciate it.

Go over to Svtperformance.com

Someone did an excellent write up. The parts you get with it are complete.

I installed mine on a May long weekend. I'm mechanically inclined, but no mechanic. If you know which is the right end of a screwdriver you'll be just fine.

And the best part is putting your foot into it afterwards.
I didn't install mine, but Carfixer and Tallboy did. Beautiful kit.

I read the install manual on line... looked pretty straight forward to me ... actually it appeared to be written for someone who really needs a lot of quidelines... very detailed...
Now if I can just find that $6,000.00...;)

Rex you have no idea how true this is!

DOOM

With the posi port my car is making more power at less boost!

I'll have to dig though my dyno sheets to give you exact numbers.

Currently I'm at 500RWHP with the 3.0 pulley on a "STREET TUNE"!

I'm very curious to see what the 2.8 will get me. :hmmm:

Do you think a 2.8 can hold up to a stock bottom end.

Doom, you said you have a 3.0 pulley. Is that engine stock internally?
