I'm going to try to sell my 95 Ford Lightning to free up some more money for a Marauder purchase. truck has about 227K miles on the chassis and 35K on the rebuilt motor and trans, runs great and trans shifts firm, no slipping or odd noises. Interior could use cleaing but there are no tears or ugly stains, someone put those ugly pep boys hood scoops on the truck I just never took them off for fear of bending the hood. Now onto what the truck needs. The front brakes are starting to pulse, so it will need two new rotors and pads, and it has a leaky collector gasket. I can fix the brakes and exhaust leak if my asking price of $3500 is met, or sell the truck the way it sits for $3000...This is a real nice solid truck. Any questions PM me or call 484 388 3560 Brian

Early Lightnings are cool and Ford built roughly the same amount in three years production as they did Marauders, white ones are the rarest as they were only built in '94 & '95... I have a black '93, which like Marauders is the most common color...

OH yeah, good floor mats are expensive as well...

I will post up pictures of the engine bay later this morning. The shame of it is, this was a friends truck and he lost his DL, it sat here for awhile and it got dirty underhood, when I first got this truck it had a beautiful engine bay.

That is one nice project truck!

It is begging for a 427W.... that will drop right in place of the 351W.

Unfortunately that GT-40 intake won't flow enough air for the big 535 HP Windsor.
Of course you should put on the OEM Lightning valve covers for a stealthier look....:2thumbs:

What are the motor internals on one of these? I need a truck. Always liked these. But it needs a blower. The one bummer that rusted bedside really needs a new bedside and outer wheelhouse to fix it right. On that bodystyle Ford had a real problem with panel to wheelhouse rusting out.

i dont think the internals are anything special.

Iam guessing that is the case. Theres a guy I went to school with who has one I ran into him at the track and his is equiped with a centri blower and nitrous with built motor, and he made a comment about it wasnt even as good as a fox body stang from the same year.
As other said it would be a neat project truck.!!

The pistons are hypereutctic so won't stand a huge amount of boost, should be OK with 6-7lbs, heads are GT40 cast iron... I believe all years use flat tappet cam but beginning '94 the blocks are cast for roller lifters, that's if it's a F4xxx casting, the F2xxx castings like mine are flat tappet only...

I rarely hammer mine, with the 4.10 gear it moves out from a stop fairly briskly... It does have a 460 zip tube, underdrive pulleys and a Flowmaster exhaust system but otherwise is stock...

OK some things I noticed tonight after I charged the battery and took it for a spin.

1. the brakes are not that bad at all, very little pulse, they stop straight and no noise
2. rear valance is cracked, I do have another one I bought I just never put it on.
3. there is no liscense plate light, i had a plate holder that had a light, it doesn't work, could be something simple

I am going to try to get the exhaust leak fixed ASAP, and I will probably have to put a new battery in, this one took forever to charge enough just to start it. We did a title transfer so it would be easier for me to sell, I should have the PA title back here in 2-4 weeks. Tomorrow I will crawl under the front end and check the core support I was made aware today that that area commonly rusts.

Well thanks guys! I buy and sell mustangs as a sort of Hobby, drive one till I'm bored with it, sell it and buy another, and I know what it's like to get screwed after driving 10+ hours to look at something the seller said it wasn't.

I have a deal Pending with Mr Cheese, very nice man, I will keep everyone posted.

03mmmonroe is heading up to NY this week, will be going right past Amigard's place and will check it out. Amigard's cool with that, actually preferred that over a sight-unseen sale (DEFINITELY an honest guy), so as soon as I get word back from Russ, I'll pull the trigger.

Will need to schedule the pick up pick-up (;)) into my rotation travel schedule, prolly toward the latter part of January, so we'll see what we can arrange for a stop-over near you.

New owner will get a new battery, I tried charging the one in the truck and it won't hold a charge. I just hope it doesn't get buried in the snow we are supposed to get this afternoon.

Ok my apologies to everyone who asked about, or PMed about the truck, especially Rex, here is the lowdown as of this afternoon. whoever owned this truck patched the floors and painted over then, it failed Pa inspection because there is rot holes throughout the frame. exhaust has holes from sitting and the header gasket leaks. I knew the truck was from MD. but I believe it was close to a shore somewhere with all this frame rot. As of ow the truck is no longer for sale, it isn't safe for me or anyone else to drive. This is why I wanted a mechanic to look it over before I sold it. Looks lke i'll pull the motor and trans for my bronco. Sorry again to anyone who asked about it

Crap! :(

All the same, thanks to Brian for being a heads up guy. We had an "electronic handshake" deal on the truck, but he wouldn't take any money as a downpayment, nor would he let me schedule a flight up to PA to pick up the truck until he got it up on a hoist and had it fully inspected.

As he noted in his post above, the vehicle's not roadworthy, but hey, I made a new friend, confirmed my belief that there are still honest people in this world, and those two things by themselves are PRICELESS.

Brian, you are the MAN!

Sorry to hear that it was a "50 footer" rust bucket.
It didn't look bad at all from the pictures.

:hmmm:
I wonder if the previous owner drove it out on the local Del/Md. beaches for some surf fishing, but never hosed the underside with fresh water.

:2thumbs: to Brian for being such a concerned and honest seller!

Thanks guys, like I said before I have gotten screwed before buying and selling Mustangs, and I won't do that to anyone. I drove put with a friend to look at a Maverick grabber in Akron OH a few years ago because it was supposed to be a rust free car. It was rust free all right, from the doorhandles down on both sides the car was bondo. we wasted probably $200 in gas and expenses, and 12 hours of driving.
