I drove it last night and it ran perfectly. This morning I went to start it and it catches a little once in a while, and then goes back to just cranking. The battery is very strong. I sprayed a little starting fluid into the intake, but it made no difference at all, which makes me think it's a spark issue.
Any help would be great.

Can you hear the fuel pump cycling?

Maybe like the last guy who had this issue. The IAC was stuck closed and wouldn't allow the car to start.

I never hear the pump, but I never listen for it either. I'll go see.
What is the IAC again? Can I unstick it?

Not much help in the other recent thread.

The IAC is the silver cylinder on the side of the throttle body. It can be cleaned. Turn the key to the run position and listen, you'll hear a motor sound for a few seconds. Thats the fuel pump.

If you lay under the car by the fuel tank and have someone turn the key (but not crank the car), the sound of the pump cycling should be more apparent.

Hey Tbone I'm glad you got your problem fixed.
So what was the cause of the problem?

The IAC was stuck. I sprayed some starting fluid in there and used a small screwdriver to gently free it. I'll do a more complete cleaning when I get a chance. Not sure what the best method is.

You can remove it from the throttle body, get some cleaning fluid and a Q tip. If you're really daring you can take it apart but unless you've done it before don't try it.

Sorry I was not there for the SOS call, I may be having the same thing starting with mine.
In the last week the car will start and die unless I keep the throttle open a little.
It does not do this every time, I will take a look at it soon.

No problemo.
Have you cleaned your intake lately? Maybe it's gummed up.

I have cleaned the Throttle body and intake recently.
I did take the IAC off this AM and decarbonized the inside with carb cleaner, small bladed screwdriver and Q tips.
The results were similar to yours , no more stalling and I had a wierd low volume honking noise at idle, that has also disapeared.
No problemo.

Problem is back again. Looking to replace the IAC this time since cleaning was no help. Best price I've found is at Autozone for $82. Anyone know a better deal out there?
