Maybe your Marauder didn't come with a botton?
Mine has a fuel door button.
Sorry...didn't mean to be a wise ass...I'm up late drinking Port wine while wrapping Christmas presents.
I've had more glasses of Port wine than the number of presents that I've sucessfully wrapped!

Only 300a have the fuel door release button in the driver's door.
Can't say that I've had it happen on my Marauder but it happened on 2 out of 3 of my previous Panthers. You just have to replace the switch. The same sw was used on other vehicles, the one in my CV right now is one pulled from a car that had it in the glove box (tempaz) so it's not chrome but it fit and plugged in fine. If you want a new instead of used switch you are pretty much going to have to go to the dealer. To install it you have to pull the door panel then it basically pops out and back in, so it is an easy thing to do and save yourself the likely ~1/2 hr labor charge.

Go to your dealer parts dept--buy 2003 Grand Marquis switch-- NOT Marauder switch--not available ???---go home--sounds like the shell is still in place--gently pry out shell with screw driver under lip--disconnect switch ---plug in new switch--press back into hole--Voila--done. My Marauder switch was black--this one is chrome--matches the trunk lock switch. No need to remove door trim. Merry Christmas, Maury;)

There is a fuel door release in the trunk. Look at owners manual.
Be careful if you are going to try and remove it w/o taking the door panel off so you don't scratch up the panel. That is why I remove the panel, you can then release the wings that hold it in w/o prying on the outside of the panel.
