View Full Version : Exhaust quieter than stock

I was thinking of redoing my exhaust some time in near future. My exhaust is quieter than stock. I want to bring it up a notch. I need to use the phone don't want the drone some members have claimed to have. I would use same SW Headers & single metal matrix high flow cats 2.5" pipe but remove the Magaflow two in/out mid muffler. Then were I removed the mid muffler install a Moroso spiral P/N MOR 94050 on R/L banks then H-pipe to OEM mufflers. Has anyone used these mufflers by Moroso if so what were your results ?

Res delete tips will increase the tone without making the car substantially louder.

Jake i think he wants more noise, burt if you take the middle muffler out and put in a regular x-pipe you will get what you want.

+1 remove the muffled X and install either an X /H/ or Prochamber

When the headers were 1st installed it was the Maucat system way to loud. With the mid muffler it is quieter than stock. This is why I was thinking of the Moroso muffler in place of mid muffler. They claim they are good for 6 to 7 db.

Oh well if that's the case then just slap on a set of AEROS!

How many cats do you have?

I had my 4 stock cats replaced with 2 hi-flo cats and it's louder and breaths better.

Just two primary cats they are high flow metal matrix.

Just swap out the OEM mufflers for a pair of Borla's and leave the mid muffler. They're quiet at cruise and idle, but get loud at WOT.

Keep the mid, and go with after market in the back...

I'm running Magna Flow -mid. with Flowmasters 40's in the back...Works for me...:)

I'd go with this plan, use either Borlas or Magnaflow. There was a pair of barely used 18" Magnaflows on here a day or two ago, that's the same length as the stockers so they should fit the bill.
