I fought with the uppers to get them out but I could not get the new ones in. I actually broke one trying to press it in. I ordered the ball joints for a cast upper but they didn't look like the ones I took out. They had a knurled finish and just refused to go in straight. The lowers were cake though. Should have some new moogs in the am to finish this job up.

+1, you can get complete uppers really cheap if you want Chinese crap, even American made ones are reasonable, a lot better then knuckle busting the way you're doing it.

I went with mevotech upper control arms 3k miles ago. They were less than $120 shipped from rockauto. They are forged just like the factory's.

You are the first person I know that has tried this. Sorry to hear that it did not work out.

You will really like the Moogs. They make the front end feel really solid with my Addco bars.

The moogs ended up as stamped and boxes parts but I used them anyways. They seemed very stiff and also a bit lighter. I'm liking the new KYB shocks too. My old ones didn't bounce but these new ones actually see to absorb the bumps better. Go figure!

how much did the eibachs lower the front?, and how do you like/describe the ride?

1 1/2 to 2 inches lower from stock, honestly sometimes i like them sometimes i dont.
It could be bouncy at times but the handling feels better than oem springs. I can see myself waking up one random day and cutting the factory springs and swaping them in

With the OEM shocks and the Eibachs it felt like the car was constantly on the bump stops but the KYB's make the car feel stiff but compliant. The Eibachs have a much higher spring rate and when I was autocrossing it was night and day on the course.

Ron, did you get a realignment after replacing the ball joints? I have to do my uppers. By the way, which KYB shock are you all referring to? Gas Adjust?
