04 Quicksilver

Just letting everyone know I'm in the building. I did not become aware of this site until several months ago.
Ever since they came out I've always wanted a new Marauder to go with the '64 Montclair Maruder 2 door that I've had for about 17 years. It's vintage burgundy with about 87K miles on it (73K at purchase).
Looking around on the internet in December of '08 I found a Silver Birch MM at a dealer in Shelbyville, IN. It had 90.5K miles (now 98K). Within a week or so my son, a friend of his and I were off on a buying trip. We left late in the evening, got there at breakfast time, bought the car (it needed front tires and had a broken right front cornering lamp housing but the dealer wouldn't budge) and got back late the next day; 1400 miles in 24 hours. Never again. On the way back I was going through a driving rainstorm and nearly hydroplaned off of a slight curve. I thought I was a goner but the tires finally bit. My son was a couple hours in front of me as I had to stop and sleep and try to find some tires but there were none in Indiana or Illinois. He had to drive through a snow storm in Missouri but I missed that.
Anyway the car is bone stock except for window tint. It does have a light flint interior, CD changer, trunk organizer and heated seats. Also has the factory floor mats. Cross my fingers but I have not experienced any of the quirkiness of the MMs radios, wipers and heat/AC problems. The things I like best about it are the rarity, stance, brute V8 back against the seat and the way the exhaust sounds.
I have to keep it outside as the '64 Marauder and a black '06 Lexus ES330 are inside; a 2000 Toyota Tundra and the '04 Marauder are under an overhang, son's '05 Crown Vic Police Interceptor is in the driveway and an '84 Riviera and '77 Electra are in a rented garage.
I guess I have put out enough hot air for the first time so until we meet again.
