I noticed on my Marauder that I have two nuts missing. I can't descibe it well so I have pics. Are they supposed to be missing? Could this be why my front inside tires are bald at 15,000 miles?

yikes ! i would definately get the 2 missing bolts with the washers and torque them down to spec and use thread lock. i would also do the other 2 on each side to just to make sure they are torqued good.

Those look like locking nuts. I would imagine they were left off instead of falling off. Mine has all the bolts & nuts, but still wore out the insides of the first set of tires in less than 15,000 mi. I had it aligned and the second set is wearing evenly. Read the posts about alignment issues with fixtures to prevent rim damage. Get the nuts put on it and torqued to spec, though.

Yes indeed they were left off. No sign of ever being installed. When you got your allignment, did they put it at the Marauder specs? I've heard of people setting them to the GM specs to cure the problem.

They set it to Marauder specs. Seems like a lot of the early production ones had this wear problem.

The nuts that are missing hold the upper part of the spring and shock assembly to the upper part of the frame. It has no effect on alignment at all. No emergency to have them installed either, just next time in for service.

Thanks for the visual, carfixer.
I'll be tearing my front and rear suspension systems apart next week, under the guidance of Mike Lopez, a guy who spends enough of his work week driving over 200 MPH to call it his daily drive.
Y'all who came to our (Zack and me) dyno tune with Jerry last August 3rd have been to his race shop. Need I say more?
These missing nuts are critical, but do not affect alignment.
Mike has inspected my MM, looked at my front tire wear, and concluded a solution for my alignment. Considering his "pilot" status, I will be listening and learning from him, and I'll let y'all know more here next week.
Happy Holidays.
