If you have the coin, get the reinhart setup, that is the sexiest setup to me, but I dont want to spend that much, I have a jlt.

Yup, the PHP is the ****nitts for looks, IMO, but if you're looking for sound, a JLT will do the job.
FWIW, if you're expecting a big performance boost by installing a CAI, you're gonna be disappointed. A tune will get you a lot more bag for the buck.

approximately how much of an HP increase can you see with the JLT CAI on a bone stock 2004 mercury marauder?

5-8hp realistically. Add more mods and you will see a greater gain.

Hm...so if the claims hold true, the JTL CAI (@ 8 hp) and the X3 tuner (@ 26 hp) should equal out to approximately 34 HP for right around $560 + shipping.
that's about $16.47 per horsepower.
Not too bad for something that takes very little time to do and shouldn't really cause any "health" issues for the car either.
What other cheap bolt ons should one consider besides the CAI and the tuner? also...what is the best tuner out there for the money?

It's not the tuner it's the tune.
Either Lidio or DR.

Actually, the air flow on an OEM airbox is pretty good; so IMO, you won't see a big differenc in power, but a CAI sure does sound nice.

I actually picked up 9hp and 8tq on a dyno with a JLT alone.:burnout:

I have a k&n. I just love the sound it makes. I had a CAI on my ranger before the marauder and I fell in love with the sound, so I had to have one on the marauder
