I'm over at the friendly Goodyear store, dropping my tires off to get taken off the wheels so I can send the wheels out for reconditioning and refinishing. Around the middle of the day I get a call that there's been a problem. "What's the problem?" I say.

"It seems our tire installer punctured the sidewalls on two of your tires - one front, one rear," they say.

After some (animated) discussion, they offer to buy me two new tires.

Well, I know the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS D3's that are on there are no longer made by Goodyear, so even though they plan to give me a credit for two new F1's I want to go to a more current tire. After some inspection and perusal of tires I can get matching front/rear pairs, I settle on the Firehawk™ Wide Oval™ Indy 500®. They are closer to what Kenny Brown originally put

My question is: anyone in MM land have experience with these? 'W' rated, 320/A/A UTQG

I think the Firehawks are what I was considering. Tirerack had them rated near the top as I recall. Only tire better IMO is the Michelin PS2 but boy they are mucho dinero.

Do the michelins come in our sizes?

I don't care about the price.

Fronts do but the rears no. I was even trying to re size the aspect ratio with no luck. Your car with the TC would be a challenge to fit. Wider tires but way smaller in dia. They sell them on Tirerack if you want to check them out.:)

I really like my eagle F1 GS-D3's and will miss them. :depress:

Just put on a brand new set of rears. I'll try to make em' last.

I really the BFG KDW2's but those are no longer made in our size either! :banghead:

The 55 series makes it tough to find rears. There are some 255's that will work. Are your rear wheels widened? I wonder if the 295 and up tires are similar in Dia as the stock rears?

I have 8 marauder wheels. :coolman:

1 set is widened but I only use those for the track. :burn:

I don't like running mis match tires on my car, especially with all the car shows that I do.

Guess I'll have to start looking for something else. :depress: :alone:
