It's not a big deal to us. We are used to it. We will be getting 15+ inches dumped on us tomorrow from that storm as it develops and joins forces with a second storm...

that actually happens because it's light in the rear, add some weight and you're in business

I like the snow. Just don't like having to drive in it with all the idiots in Northern Virginia. Not too partial to having to shovel it either ... especially when it is over 1 foot. Last years two - 24" back-to-back dumpings was about my limit.

I hate it. It was fun when I was a kid and didn't have to go to school and could play in the snow for hours.

Now, making an hour and a half trek into Manhattan in the snow and slush is now fun what so ever especially when the snow is at knee height. :shake:

Snow tires and weight in the trunk make all the difference in the world in the snow. These cars are great snow cars with the right tires and weight in the trunk. I have a lot of fun in the snow with my car! Definitely a good time. I also love the way the land looks covered in snow. Plus snow=money. The fire department will call me in to do station coverage. Plus, I get bored at the station and we have a plow, so I just go out and plow all day and night seeing as how I can't sleep in a fire house for some reason!

I'm with ya Mac, the worst part is the city is clueless on how to deal with it. Unfortunately adding weight will do nothing for you because everything is an inch to 2 inches of pure ice. Why? Because they don't know how to plow, they don't use salt, so nothing melts, as such we have been shut down for two days largely because the city just didn't know how to deal. I'm from Chicago and this is the worst I ahve every seen roads. Imagine trying to drive on an ice rink, it's kind of like that.

He is still there! This, cut from a very recent article.

Environment Canada has quietly released its climate report for 2010, confirming that it was the hottest year on Canadian record books.
National temperatures exceeded average values by a whopping 3 C, the warmest since record-keeping began in 1948, says the report, posted on the department's website Monday.
"All of the country was above normal, with most of Nunavut and northern Quebec at least 4 C above normal," says the report, that highlights 2010's northern heat wave on its map in red.

Now, this is snow! That's what we got overnight Friday. And then again Saturday and Sunday. Then Monday and Tuesday off, and it's snowing again. And 30 below.

And for all those who ask 'what is snow?' all I have to ask is; 'what's a hurricane'? I'd much rather deal with a shovel, than poison snakes, nasty insects and angry mother nature!

Too much snow = global warming
Too little snow = global warming
Too much rain = gw
Too little rain = gw
Hot temps = gw
Cold temps = gw
Too many hurricanes = gw
Too little hurricanes = gw

A pleasant 72 degree day with gentle breezes from the north = Global Warming!

Hot air from Al Gore's gaping maw and his private airplane, boats, jetskis, cars and his several huge homes = GLOBAL WARMING!!!!

Get the picture?

All the snow IS from global warming. Snow happens when moisture is trapped in the atmosphere and as it falls, turns to snow/hail/ice whatever you want to call it. The reason there is more and more moisture getting trapped and turned into snow is because of global warming. Cold dry air falling down doesn't make snow, noobs. :D I guess next someone will say you can travel faster than the speed of light.
Relax, it will all be over within 1000 days. The Law of Compound Deficit Usury is kicking in spades, thanks to a communist country (China) holding our debt and taking our manufacturing jobs, so we can add to that debt even more because we have to buy everything from them. War is peace, freedom is slavery, ignorance is strength, E pluribus **** 'em. Everything is backwards. Gallon of regular this morning was 2.95, premium was 3.25, WTF?
Hug your kids. Dig a cistern in the back yard. Buy beans and rice. It's gonna be a long, cold winter.

We "deal" with it in many ways.

We actually look forward to it, therefore there is no "dealing".

No need to shovel around here. We get around quite fine, and even with the biggest dump, like yesterday, 16", I get around unplowed interstates at speed as if there was nothing on the ground.

Yesterday:

We got around 20" here in my area. I dealt with it by setting up shop at my town's second fire station in case there were any calls. This is where I set up shop for the duration of the storm. Made quite the nice amount of $$$ from this storm! My duty was to be the first on scene EMT for the south end of town and also I was driver/pump operator for the truck on the right in case we had a fire call. Had a couple of calls, but nothing of severity which is always good!
