Kind of sucks to see all the stuff that was "planned" for the car didn't pan out.

That is a pretty cool article. I used it for research for a paper I wrote for one of my college english classes. I think I had a copy of the magazine a while ago, but I let it go long before I was into these cars.

Thanks for sharing. This car could have really helped keep Mercury on the map.

There have been a few magazines articles here and there. It amazes me though how much the MM is ignored by magazines. I see way more articles on the 94-6 Impala SS and it's a piece of crap.

That article mentioned a later model having the God Head in the grille instead of the waterfall. Has anyone made an aftermarket version of this?

I may have misread your comment bro but a guy on here has a Godhead on his trunk and grille.:)

I wouldn't call it crap. I owned one but I admit it really doesn't compare to the MM. I loved the way it looked and that's really about it when compared

Carmotorsports makes the aftermarket emblems, and there is a sticky on this site that tells you how to make them from center caps.
Good article, I wish they (Ford) had pushed this car more like Chevy did the impala ss. I like the impala's also though. Big American 4 door, with a strong v8 motor, I like it. Both are enthusiasts vehicles

that was a great article. too bad all the beefy mods they talked about (3.73, 19 inch rims, Baer breaks etc..) never released as planned. imagine if production continued and they were using the new 3v 5.0 stuffed inbetween the fenders... oooooooohhh
