Speaker problem

Hey guys I have a question. I have had this same this issue with my crown vic & now with my current marauder. I have a completely stock stereo system & from time to time the left speakers will cut out. If i turn the volume up or down they will kick back in. What is the cause of this? I listen to AM sports talk most of the time so I am not really looking to upgrade anything, just wondering what the problem is.

The deck is going out is my first guess. Possoble volume control problem. We see a lot of Fords here atr the store doing wacky things like yours. Get aftermarket or try and find a good used one.

Yeah I had same problem and my tape always was getting stuck when playing my iPod, so I just got a new radio( alpine of course).. Problem fix...
