Installing Seat Heaters

Looking at installing seat heaters. I see where a number of members have used aftermarket kits. (That is what I have)

Looking for someone who has actually done this themselves.....

What concerns are there with the air bags and removing the seat covers?

Is there an issue with the seat heaters and the air bags? The aftermarket kit mentions possible issues with the airbag sensors and them being overheated.

I'd take it to a good upholsterer if there were safety issues like you are talking about.

I had mine installed when I bought the car (9/28/02) dealer did them and no issues at all.

Do you recall what aftermarket brand your heating elements are?

I wouldn't trust my dealership here to do this sort of work. If anything I will take the elements and the seats to a local upholstery shop and then I will do the in car wiring etc.

Where did you mount your switches?
