Just curious, you going to AMSOIL or "Royal Purple"?? I've used and LIKE both BUT I've never used Mobil 1 Extended Performance before...they say "good for about 15K Miles "or so right? Depending on your driving conditions. AMSOIL says sales are really up w/ Fleets especially because all this damn Ethanol they're putting in our gasolines now eats away the protective properties and coatings of quality oil on internal engine parts! :shake: It's frustrating...us Gear Heads hear so much in this arena -- I know the discussions can go on for HOURS too!

I've already used Amsoil for years (An excellent oil), so I'm looking at Renewable Lubes @11.00qt. Basically a POA & POE (Grp 4 & Grp 5 Blend) maybe Neo syntheic & Red Line. I like the Esters in the POEs for engins cleaning properties. Some of the things I'm looking into is the "Boundry" layer at start-up. Before I do all this I'll have to get a oil analysis from this guy

I'm going with Terry Dyson, I can actually talk with him.
As far as the Ethanol in the gas (To reduce emissions), I look at Upper Cylinder Lubes from Red Line, MMO (Marvel Mystery Oil), Lube Control & Renewable Lube, I think Schaeffer Oil company's Neutra #131 is a choice also.

There is no such thing as a bad oil, I'm tring to match the oil to the engine. The Knock sensor & O2 sensor went in the wife's 97 Q45 with only 78000 miles. Maybe due to lack of care on my part. It's a DD so it see alot of stop-n-go traffic, heat soak and the likes.
My 04 MM has 3100 miles (new since 04) 7yrs. Also have a 98 BMW 740iL 112600 miles.
Just moving oil to free up cash. I was at Pep Boys and the cheapest Dino oil is $4-5qt w/o tax. So if oil prices start to rise Dino oil will be what I'm selling this for.
