Very nice show on the history of Mercury and had shots of the 63,64,69,70 MM and also 1 to 2 min footage of our late model MM. A black and silver model. The man speaking about them was very flattering of the MM. Nice show, anyone else see it?

Fine Living

A CARography (http://www.fineliving.com/fine/making_the_mark/0,1663,FINE_1412,00.html)

Mercury (320)
The high-performance, stylish Mercury was developed by Ford in 1939 and was an immediate hit. Once James Dean cruised the streets in a 1949 model in Rebel Without a Cause, the car became a symbol for young rebellious teens. When the Muscle and Pony Car wars hit in the 1960s, Mercury was at the forefront with its high-performance Marauders, Cyclones and its signature car, the Cougar. A 2003 model brings back the Marauder name for Mercury, a car known for 65 years for its unique personality and look. Additional episode details coming soon.

Didn't see it. Never heard of the Fine Living Channel either.

Sounds like it was interesting though. Was the whole show on Mercury?

Fine Living is owned by Scripps, who also owns Food Network, Home & Garden Television and DIY. FL is most likely on a digital level of service.

To all you Night Owls (well, maybe not West Coast):

The show is about to start on Fine Living.

Gary Richards, Technical Advisor for IMOA, was interviewed extensively, sharing his expertise of all things Mercury.

Glad I stayed up for it. The 63 S-55 is owned by a fellow in S/F and was org. out of Tacoma Wash. I missed buying it by a week. It's a beautiful orginal with under 100,000 miles. All he had to do was wax and detail the engine compartment, the chrome engine compartment is in this one.
The 64 is owned by a fellow in Sacamento, and was his bought new, sold it to a freind and then bought back when he died some 30some years later. It has under 50,000 miles. ( I won't use names).
Both cars are in the poster that most of you have. FoMoCo at the time had a call out for a black on black Marauder but could not find one. Their are less than 200 63 Marauder's left out of a total of 9,200 and some in different forms.
More pictures of them can be seen at the Yahoo sites.

Crap... looks like I missed this.
Mercury has always been a marque that I've known little about... there just isn't a lot of literature out there that I know of.

Would any Bunny be interested in taping it for one of the members whose TV tuner doesn't get those really high numbered channels?

Did I mention that I like peanut butter cookies too?

The Marauder was built for Nascar racing, after leaving a very successfull decade, the 50's, Merc wanted back in and this was the Nameplate they used, a name that was on the Merc FE engine for a couple of years already.
Their is alot of info on the net at the IMMC site, in the links, in the IMMC links is where you can find the history. If you have not registered their do so.

Google has a ton of info on the 03-04's and most everthing you want to know about the Marauder's, go to Google and enter Mercury Marauder.
