So I got a flat tire yesterday on my right rear Nitto NT555 275/40/18.
Ive driven the car almost 6 months and about 9k miles since all 4 tires were new and installed together.
My question is, on a 10" rim/tire combo is that 9k miles of wear going to mess up my alignment and/or future wear when i get a new tire on now? Is the worn rear left going to be messed up because of the new rear right or vice versa? Or am I just overthinking as usual?
It doesn't look too bad really so im looking for opinions.

Can't you just plug the flat rear? I always replace two tyres at the same time. Right now Ms. D's car is on an alternate year replacement schedule though now that the car is not a DD the tyres last a lot longer. I don't think the rear tyres will have much if any effect on your alignment. If it were the front and I couldn't plug the existing tyre I'd replace them both.

Its got a massive gash between treads. And the sidewall is completely bubbled and not uniform. I just don't trust it
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You got 9k miles out of your tires!!!??? :awe:
I wish i could get 9k miles out of mine. :depress:

Doom, when you only drive it a 1/4 mile at a time and do burnouts just running out to McDonald's, they won't last very long

Yup, I've seen your burnouts, in fact I look forward to seeing if all the tire tracks are still at the Hotel in Louisville

Tires don't mess up the alignment. Alignment angles change when hitting pot holes and ruts in the road.

id prolly go through tires fast with a SC too
I guess its not alignment so much as funky tire wear i'm worried about

A new tire in the rear won't affect alignment at all.

Just another question that may help. What is the remaining good tires tread depth? Will the difference in the new tire tread depth and the old tire on the other side cause any ill effect in the differential? Will the difference be enough to affect overall diameter? IDK, just wondering.

1/8" diiference in tread is the edge of "acceptable". Says the industry

Its about an 8th of an inch. Im not gona lose sleep over it.
Tire rack will shave your new tire to match the tread depth of the old one.
