Hey everybody! I am looking at a Marauder that is in Georgia, and was wondering if there were any members out there that can give me some insight. It is a 2003, blue, with 64000 on the odo. Will the vin help? It is 2MEHM75V03X682807. Any help would be appreciated.

Not familar with it, haven't seen any blues at any of our gatherings. I did notice one blue one day in the north Atlanta (Duluth, Lawerenceville area) but I don't think they are a member here

Any idea where it's located in Georgia? Maybe someone close can take a look at it for you.

It is at Jacky Jones. Are they dishonest? I was actually looking to sell my 06 mustang and thought I might trade it on a marauder. It would be worth more in the long run, especially in blue. Any insight would be helpful. Thanks to you all!

Good car buying tip: it just about ALWAYS pays to sell your car privately on the internet, at an auction, or what ever medium you are comfortable with. The cash up front as a bargaining chip (people go crazy for stacks of bills laid out in front of them). Dealers usually make a lot of their revenue on low balling trade-ins.

I just bought my blue with 36K on her with a few extras for 16.2K.

How much is Jacky asking for their blue?

I got mine at Jacky Jones in Gainesville also, the sales manager was an a-hole, if there had been any others remotly close I would have went elsewhere just because of him.

The Kia dealer here in Orlando might wish to unload my old black. It has 70300 miles on it. All stock, charcoal interior. Excellent condition, new tires, runs great. Just got too expensive to keep it fed.

A DPB Marauder in good shape would be a great car to own. Be sure to PM RoyLPita here on the site and ask him to run the VIN. Then negotiate a price you can live with depending on how much you want the car and how badly you'll regret it if you walk away. They aren't making anymore of these.;)

Looks like someone took good care of her. PM Brian (Royalpita) above and have him give you the lowdown on the vin. I'd walk that price down though. 13k range? Others here will know better.

squeeky clean! yeah 15k+ plus is too high and i agree 13k is a good starting price. all depends on how bad you want it really.

My experience with Jacky Jones wasnt bad. I just gave them back double what they tried to do with me. Im hard on dealers. Make them make you happy. They need the sell and you want the buy. If I had the extra money Id already bought it

Jacky Jones is one of the few dealers in the Atlanta Metro that knows a Marauder is more than just a CV or a GM..... They are old fashioned in how they deal. If you go in drooling, they will try and bend you over (hell I would if I knew someone was hot for what I was trying to sell) so its best to be a little coy about your level of interest.

I will say that of all the people I know who have traded with them, most have a favorable impression. Not because they came out stealing a vehicle, but because they felt they had a good deal and were treated fairly.

Good luck. I don't often get up that way, but if I do I will take a swing by.:burnout:

Good luck! And hope you and that Marauder will live happily ever after if all goes well!

If so, you have to promise to drive it to Marauderville in Hershey PA next October!

That is the stars aligning properly! I am only a couple of hours from Hershey! Thanks to the crew setting that up! Either way, marauder or not I will be there. :burnout:

Things Ive learned over the years:

1. On a trade, all you care about is how much money you have to pay, ie the difference between the wholesale on your trade and the cost of the new car. You should already have an idea of what you should pay (a max dollar amout you will spend) by knowing the wholesale value of your trade and the price of the new car.

2. When trading a car, if its in good shape, expect no more than a wholesale price (get that info on Edmunds.com and remember it). All trading is is a convenience so you dont have to go thru the hassle of selling it. Yes, you will get more money if you sell it on Craigslist first. Sometimes I just dont want to deal with it and do the trade route.

3. You are the one with the money in the pocket, either cash or your trade. The dealer has to sell the car to somebody. You are in the drivers seat. You can walk away. Many times its good to walk away.

4. The second the salesman draws one of those 4 square things on a sheet of paper get up and leave.

5. Tell the salesman you are buying a car today and if he wont sell you one you are going next door to the GMC dealer and buying one there.

6. Tell the salesman you are dealing with him only. Tell him if another guy pokes his head in you are gone. If he cant sell the car, let you deal with someone who can.

7. Only talk out the door price, taxes included. In fact, don't worry about taxes, prep, whatever, just discuss a drive away price and if they give you a better price on the car but charge more as prep, who cares? You are only talking drive away price.

9. Dealerships that are scroungy, have crummy public areas or their shops look like crap are not a place to buy a car.

Those are some of the things Ive learned (Im sure others have more).

I bought mine in May 09 from them and still check their inventory pretty often. The owner loves the muscle sedan so he buys up every Marauder he comes across. Its not uncommon for him to have 3-4 at at time. He had 3 when I bought mine. Mention my name (Josh Irwin) so he will send me some cash lol

I bought my first marauder from Jacky Jones... out there in Gainesville.
their alright ppl... just depends on who u talk to, my sales man was Jerimiah Wright... cool dude.
i already called and talked to him about the marauder earlier this week... was interested in trading mine in for it. i was gonna go out there today... really on the fence about it.

Went and looked at it..... clean and quiet as hell
there are only a few things that stuck out in my head

1. there was a full size spare but it wasnt the five spoke rim.. looked like a Grand Marquis rim
2. the bumper inserts... they used some wack ass stickers that look home made instead of gettin the bob white decals or the ss inserts
3. scratch across the trunk lid
4. the cover on the door switches on the driver side was extra loose... like when u close the door it pops outta place, the clip probably was broke.

heated seats and 6 disk changer is a plus!

Hey, thank you for the info. I am playing hard to get right now so that my interest level seems low. The car I may trade is worth more than that one. IMO. The hood looked as if it did not sit correctly as well. At least from the picture.

i have bought about 10 vehicles from the Jacky Jones franchise and have never had any problems with them in any way. i actually know Jacky personally. i have seen several of the Marauders they have had and have been impressed with the condition they are in.

their gettin a lot of attention with this car, as soon s i pulled up someone was tking it for a test drive.... dudes wife supposedly didnt like the color so they took out a black one for a spin. And by the time i was leaving they were showing it to someone else.
If u dont jump on it someone else will

Forgot to tell u they put brand new BFG's on there... front and back. Engine bay is clean as hell also. they detailed it quite nicely
i didnt notice the hood not aligning correctly.... this first picture is the only one that i noticed something with the hood... might jus be cause u said something, but when i walked around and checked the lines of the car they seemed good.
IMO needs a spoiler

Valid point, that is a definite haul. But if you can do it, I can guarantee it will be one of the best times you'll have. But glad that a Blue went to a member that is posting on the site. This is a great family
