I get a exhaust smell in the cabin when I have the heater on. I have checked the exhaust manafold & pipe all the way to the tips. They are all in good working order with no leaks. The egr pipe & fittings are also fine. What else should I check ?

I was thinking maybe pluged pvc or cracked hose ? How do gases circulate in th motor head to head right /left.

pass side has an pcv valve, drivers side has a breather tube going to the inlet tube, if either is frayed/broken=fumes/headache:(

I do have the headache after an hour drive. I will check for cracked hoses & maybe a pluged pvc valve. Should I check anything more ?

I use to get it, but on defrost only, I was told here that defrost takes in outside air, and that it was other cars exhaust that I was smelling, so when in heavy traffic I switch to the heater only, never had a problem again.

Thanks I never thought of checking the donut rings. You are refering to the ones in the valve covers ?

no i mean the gaskets in the outlet of the exhaust manifolds, but check the gromets too!
cant hurt to cover all the bases

DS is the clean metered air in, PS is the contaminated air out.

What outlet gaskets?? Besides, he has headers. How old are your high flows? I have seen a few with minor cracks, not much extra noise, but definately fumes.
