OK so my Fm does not work neither does my defrost. I have pretty much found out that i just need a new radio, but is there any way to fix the rear defrost with out replacing the rear glass????

I am assuming you have already checked the fuses for the defroster. I would test the solder points to the defroster element on the glass and proceed from there. I have seen those get busted off.

yep the fuses are checked....first thing. ok those are the 3 clip "thingys" (technically) on the back window?

I think that is what I'm talking about. It was obvious when I fixed my problem. All I had to do was re-solder one of the points.
I can't tell you much more than that other than checking for current. Also sometimes if you have taken off window tint or somehow sc***** the window it could have damaged the element.

It could be a number of things. I would check with a multimeter for 12volts.
Maybe someone can chime in. I'm no expert.

ok thank you for the advice. I will check the points tomorrow when I have light. Then I will move to the next possibility.

If it's any consolation, only the bottom half of the lines have ever worked on mine and everything appears to be connected.

checking for power like kamastl stated is a good place to start, also if the light on the switch isnt coming on check for current at the switch (could just be bad switch)

The 2 clip thingies on either side are the defroster grid and the one in the middle at the top is the radio antenna. A scratch that crosses multiple grid lines could affect both the defroster and the radio.

The heater element grid lines could be repairable... check link:

On most cars I've owned, the rear defrost affects the radio signal

i had the problem of static in my radio everytime i had my rear window defroster on. the defroter in the rear window was the problem and the rear window had to be replaced to fix the problem.

the light will come on.

if the light is coming on i would check for current at the window terminal with a test light, if your getting power at the terminal check the defroster element on the window for any damage.
