Anyone besides TMF done this? I just spent an hour searching back to '04.. I could only find one pic of John's original set up.

If work keeps going strong i'd like to change out the rims for some REAL widened rims, not no 1 1/2", preferrably in a 60/70 MM offset (if I can find), in probably a 20". I want it just enough inside the lip that she can tuck in without issues and as far as the frame will let me, depending on tire choices available.

Fabbing really isn't the issue here, just looking to see how the shocks held up over time, different feel?, ETC. I would have to think it wouldn't change much at all if set up right. I am just thinking out loud right now, I still have to take solid measurements, and search for available wheels/tires.

Thanks.

You may end up with lower control arm clearence issues to Bob, I did.

Any fab / musclecar shop worth a chit can relocate the shocks for you. I could recommend H & W Speedshop in Cedar Rapids, IA. They've done all my work and I couldn't be happier.

The rear axle housing from a 2002-earlier should work for re-locating the shocks. The control arm and spring location should be the same as the stock MM piece, but has the shocks mounted inside the frame rail.

Bob I would think relocating the shocks inward would adversely effect handling. I guess if your intention is to go slow on the road and fast at the drag strip you would be OK.

I talked to Marty about this and just moving the shocks dosnt really help. The CAs are then in the way

Anyone ever looked into a thinner shock to gain some clearance?

Good ideas everyone. It has been a few months since I was poking around underneath, but don't seem to remember an issue with the lower CA's? I'll have to get back under there and get a looksy. Anywho, I love fabbing and welding and this looks to be an easy task, but I do not want to relocate the CA's and change the geometry. Hmm, but then again, triangulated four link, ditch the watts link, keep the bags, and fab in a ride height sensor. Man I hate winter, makes me think too much...

Thanks guys.

Your mod to the rear suspension would open up a larger selection of rear shocks for the Marauder. Keep you wheels turning.
