I think you have to cut the tip, remove the baffle and weld the tip up.
Resonator delete tips will give you a little more sound.

Not really a lot louder, just more "tone", if that makes any sense.

just delete rear cats for more sound and maybe a few more horses.

I still don't know why they call them resinators.. When I cut mine off, I learned that all it is, is the tail pipe continues on in about 8-10" and then there is a crush doughnut holding the tip still. (I really shouldv'e taken pics....)
Anyways, take a looksy into the tip. You will see the crush doughnut. It is 1/2" (?) thick or so, NOTHING behind it but that pipe you see. Cut it off right at the start of the chrome, keeping in mind that you will need to cut through the tip AND the tail pipe inside. A fine toothed Milwaukee sawzall blade worked great.
Set the tip vertically strattling two cinder blocks, take a two foot long pipe and a hammer and knock that crap on out. Easy peasy.
Reweld back on.
Total job cost me like $30-$40 bucks at the muffler shop. I was out 30 minutes later.
Sound? Way not enough of a difference, just a slightly different tone. If I could do it again, I would leave them alone and just hack the rear cats, but thats just me.
