Even with 120,000 miles my MM is worth $9450. The miles don't hurt its value hardly at all. I think the car was down to $8000 at one point.

The books don't mean anything. Its what a buyer is willing to pay. The "book" value is used for lenders and insurance co's. I love it when people say "listed below book value" and then complain it didn't sell after 6 months.

It's still a good baseline to go by. There has to be some kind of reference. It works for me.

My 2003 MM with 77,500 miles seems to be tracking right along with the early projections that I made many years ago. Suggested Retail Value is within $500 of the chart. Mine is about 30K miles less than what would be considered "average" miles for this age car. So, I don't think that we have reached bottom or flattened out yet.

I was surprised, $13,450 for my 04 DTR. Definately going up, but as said its worth what someone is willing to pay and mines not for sale.

Most used cars have gone up in value. There is a shortage of vehicles in this country due to the Cash for Clunkers program. Plus the lack of new car sales made for fewer new cars that are late model. The wholesale price is way up because of this. People are also keeping cars much longer than before. Supply and demand laws in effect now!

It look like $1050 is the max deduction for miles. Even if you put in 500,000 miles, it stays at $1050. Interesting.

$11,725* (http://www.nadaguides.com/Page/External/503258?price=11725&extLinkId=100132&routeId=221) for my 03 with 70K. Now factor in the ton of money I put in the car and I don't think Ill be parting with it anytime soon. ;)

I haven't really put that much into my car, but I hear you. Sometimes that can be a big minus at sales time. Right Doomie ?

Weird. My 03 with 1700 miles is at 13,400. With 30k miles (probably what it'll have by the end of this year, if spring ever comes), it's at the same exact amount. I guess miles don't matter... 50k miles drops like 300 bucks off...

Apparently mine is worth between 6 and 7 thousand in trade. Assuming they would accept even average condition. Problem is, NO ONE wants to trade in a vehicle with more than 100K on the clock. They take it straight to auction around here, and because of that offer you nothing. The local big Ford dealership offered me 2k for mine when I went looking at the new GT 5.0. For some reason they seemed a little surprised I expected more.

It's just an old trick they play. They play stupid and say "your car just isn't worth anything, but we'll take it in as a favor."

If Ins company says it's totaled because of what ever reason, then see how much book value means.

They compare it to what is on the market. We're talking insurance companies here. Different animal.

I told the salesman the in the ideal world I expect about 9K for it, but that since this isn't that place I'd be quite happy around 6 or 7.

He talked to his sales manager for a bit, came back and told me the same thing again. I told him there was no way I could accept that and because of that there was no way I could make a deal to buy the Mustang. He didn't budge.

It's a real shame too, cause they were letting that GT go for relatively cheap (below 27K for brand new.) It was perfect for me too: standard trans, not a single extra option EXCEPT the 3.73 rear gear from the factory. Ran like a ***** ape, as they say.

I say "screams" like a ***** ape. Just makes more sense.

They didn't think you could afford the car so they were running you off. Pretty standard stuff there.

He sure did jump through a lot of hoops to get me to talk price though.

I dunno, I've been run off by dealerships before, this guy didn't give me the usual run-around. The only dealership that's offered me close to what I wanted was actually the used car lot I bought the car from, I think the owner REALLY wants a Marauder.

Not good.....I had a 1996 CVPI with like 75K on the clock.....I went to Bluebonnet in New Braunfels and traded it in on a 2001 Taurus and got 2500 for it with a bent rod in the motor that was knocking pretty good when they drove the crap out of it......three salesmen took it out, came back, and said it drives pretty good but you have a bad motor....I told them I know....they said okay...we'll take it....it was fun!! That was back in 2002.

I believe a lot depends on your area of the country. Where I live Marauders are very rare. My selling dealer has tried on a number of occasions to entice me into trading it in. I tell them every time, no dice, not for sale.
