NY to CA Move

I got started on my cross-country trek from NY to CA today, and have stopped in Cleveland, OH for the night. I'll post pictures from each day, feel free to comment. I like sharing my adventures, so I hope you enjoy!

Had I known you were in Cleveland, I would have left work early and bought you a beer or something. Anyway, drive safely. We were inundated with stranded motorist calls, accidents, etc. tonight and I'm sure the road crews won't get it all done tonight.

That factory is pretty cool; it's on the shoreway near MLK Blvd., E. 71st-ish. There are some cool ones on 71 South that have flames shooting from the tops of them, but if you're sticking with 90 you won't see them.

Where in Cali are you moving to?

I'm stopping in Sacramento for a few weeks, since that's where I'm from, but I am ultimately moving to San Diego to ship out with the USS Ronald Reagan.

We decided last minute to change the route to the most direct one, so I didn't know I was going through Cleveland until we were about to take off. There were definitely plenty of people who slid off the road, I stopped taking pictures of them because it was getting to common.

Yeah, last minute change to save a few hundred miles. The big picture route is 90 to 80 the whole way.

Been to both, the best part of San Diego was Tijuana, back when you could cross the border without having someone liberate your head from your neckbone.

Today was a short 440 miles to Salt Lake City, UT! We got in early enough that I brought the MM down off the trailer and took her for a wash and drive.

We stopped at the LDS temple and toured around it a bit. I'm not the religious type, but I'm definitely a fan of the architecture. I wonder if it's just coincidence that all of the missionaries in the visitor center were female and very attractive. We got a personal tour of the site by two of them, one being a knock-out from Germany. Ya!
