I bought my MM a year ago yesterday and when I bought it everything was fine. about three months after i bought it i noticed a knock. it keeps gettin worse every month and sounds really loud in the cold. it sounds like its coming from the top end passenger side. i was told its either my lifters or timing chain tensioners. has anyone else had this problem or at least know what it most likely is. thanks.

if your knock is that bad your trashing your motor by continuing to run the car, i would park it until you can fix it.

it could be any # of things but one things for sure its not going away

Take it to a shop as ASAP. If your engine light isn't on then hopefully its nothing to serious.

Yes my engine started knocking a few months ago.The problem was number 6 and 8 cylinders premature wear no reason for it. Now having a stroker motor built!

^^ The back cylinders are prone to hot spots from a lack of coolant flow

Evenflow Cooling Mod fixes this issue

The reason for the wear is because the car wanted a stoker motor! :D

I've had mine start a light knock on cold start up. Sounds like the right side. Gets lighter as it warms up, but seems fine once warm. Hope it lasts, as I just bought it a couple months back, and is my DD right now. Doesn't seem to do it every morning though.
Wonder about putting a slightly heavier oil in it? Thoughts?
Better start saving my pennies I guess.

Heavier oil will delay the inevitable and you'll probably do more damage.

Heavier oil will do more damage? Or do you mean continuing to drive will?
